In 2008, the US government’s top climate experts announced that the Arctic had passed a “tipping point” and would be ice-free by 2013.
Arctic sea ice thickness is almost exactly the same as it was in 2008, and extent is at a 10 year high. There was no tipping point. It was all nonsense.
So how do they respond to their incompetence? By repeating the exact same lies seven years later.

When I read the line under the photo I though I was reading the Guardian [update – I’ve had another look and realized it was the Guardian].

excuse me?
If they were an Alaskan Inuit then they traveled, by snowmobile a tiny 1100 miles. Of course they may have been Canadian Inuit in which case the trip to the North Pole from the nearest point in Canada is a mere 500 miles. Where did they refuel?
I’m not sure that anyone would go 500-1100 miles across sea ice on a snowmobile to catch fish at the North Pole.

The same drivel centers around Sea Level rise, particularly with “satellite” data that “shows” 2 to 3 times the actual rise. Satellites don’t know how to “show.” Only sadly inept interpretation of the data “shows” anything, and of course CO2 is to blame per the IPCC.
