The Evolution Of National Geographic’s Spectacular Climate Lies

In 1976, National Geographic correctly reported that Earth’s temperature varied from 50F to 61F during the span humans occupied the planet, and that most of human existence was typified by extremely cold weather which would not support civilization. (Chicago was under a mile of ice)

But by 2007, National Geographic had completely thrown science and integrity out the window, and was claiming that the planet was a steady 57F prior to the burning of fossil fuels. They also started promoting starving poor people by using food for fuel.

The big question is – who is paying for this massive global warming fraud?

Well I know that Nat Geo is paying a price. Their subscriptions and revenue down the society sold out it’s media and mag to Rupert Murdoch.

The outcry from the left was immediate!

scientific american, another once reputable magazine, has also thrown caution to the wind and jumped headlong onto the climate bandwagon. even popular mechanics has sold out.

Regardless of science education, this Global Warming nonsense not only make profits, but it is addictive enough to be impossible to avoided. Meanwhile, it will also make profits from coats and heating utilities as it continues to become colder.

What is frightening is the attack on all levels of science education including the internet where skeptic material is being actively removed, even from the Wayback Machine.
      I discuss the problem HERE

Some where I read/heard ‘Sustainability’ is now required by law at all US colleges/universities.

Ah ha, found it at Hillsdale college. (This is from 2008 BEFORE Obummer came on the scene.)

…The Environmental Education and Training Program: While all of these organizations are important in spreading the EE definition, the EETAP is guaranteed 25 percent of the EE budget to promote the EE definition to teachers, schools and states. Since 1995 EETAP has trained more than 75,000 teachers and educators.

Since education policy is set primarily at the state level, EETAP funds the National EE Advancement Project (NEEAP) that works with local organizations to pass state laws that institutionalize EE in the schools. At last count, 32 states have created state funding for EE, 34 states have included EE in their assessment strategies, 34 states have established in-service EE training programs for teachers and 30 states have incorporated EE learning objectives into their curriculum guidelines.

The NEEAP also works to have states require certification for EE teachers. Certification programs have been established in Utah, Kentucky and Texas. This effort dovetails with another NEEAP project that is attempting to require schools of education to teach EE. By working with the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, NEEAP is writing “Environmental Education Program Standards for the Preparation of Teachers” which, if adopted by the NCATE, would require schools of education to meet EE standards before they would be accredited….

From my previous post: where I found a reference I wanted removed by CLEANet.
…Following up on CLEAN (“Climate Literacy and Energy Awareness Network “)

      what do I find? NOAA!

Digital resources for teaching about climate and energy – resources are reviewed by educators and scientists, annotated, and aligned with standards and benchmarks

The Teaching Climate section partnered with the Climate Literacy and Energy Awareness Network (CLEAN) to use the Climate Literacy guide to identify and integrate effective resources across different educational levels. The CLEAN framework for vetting, reviewing, and assuring scientific quality of climate and global change education materials on climate, energy and related topics will be very useful to teachers and educational systems across the nation.

CLEAN, the Climate Literacy and Energy Awareness Network Portal, was launched in 2010 as a National Science Digital Library (NSDL) Pathways project. It is led by the science education expertise of TERC, the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Science (CIRES) at the University of Colorado Boulder, the Science Education Resource Center (SERC) at Carleton College, and NOAA. CLEAN builds on the efforts of the CLEAN Network (formerly Climate Literacy Network), and the establishment of the Climate Literacy: Essential Principles of Climate Science, and the Energy Literacy Essential Principles and Fundamental Concepts of Energy Education.

CLEAN’s primary effort is to steward a collection of educational resources around energy and climate topics and foster a community that supports learning about climate and energy topics. CLEAN’s focus has been to integrate the effective use of the educational resources across all grade levels – with a particular focus on the middle-school through undergraduate levels (grades 6-16). The activities of CLEAN include…

No wonder there is a ‘97% consensus’ NOTHING ELSE is ALLOWED! I think I am going to be sick.

  5. Rosco says:

Entry level Climate Science taught at Universities says that the back radiation from the atmosphere is equal in heating power to the solar radiation – this same fallacy is endlessly repeated in all the alarmists sites.

Wonder why solar thermal power stations don’t operate at half efficiency at night ?

  6. ntesdorf says:

National Geographic sold out to the Warmistas and NG didn’t even get a decent price for it. The public has notiiced and NG subscriptions and revenue are down. Rupert Murdoch has absorbed its remains.

  7. Ted says:

But we’re not JUST starving poor people to make ethanol. We’re draining the Ogallala aquifer to do it. When that’s gone, the entire world balance of power changes. Food trumps oil, every time.
