Why you should be worried about declining snow cover across North America – The Washington Post

Last year had the highest autumn snow cover ever recorded for North America, and winter snow cover has steadily increased as well.

Boston had one of their snowiest winters on record last year.

Three months earlier, the Washington Post reported on record cold in DC

Just north of DC, we had near record amounts of snow last winter. Facts don’t matter to climate alarmists. They are paid to produce propaganda, not disseminate factual information.

The wp is covered in snow?

Chris Mooney is a left wing propagandist brought over from Mother Jones to WaPo. He is the mouthpiece for Michael Mann and constantly presents the illusion of climate catastrophes all around. WaPo is now the worst in objective climate reporting and the most prolific fear mongerers.

I noticed the IPCC reported the same thing, only talking about spring snow.

Like the “settled science” of whole milk / saturated fats being bad for you that has just been exposed as not true.

      Don,
      It is worse than that.

Thanks to the cosy relationship between ADM and the US government, High Fructose Corn Syrup has been made cheaper than cane sugar via regulations. That is what you find in all the soft drinks and kiddie fruit juices. To make ‘low fat’ palatable more sugar is added to foods you would not think had sugar. (Look at peanut butter for instance)

So what is the matter with Fructose?
Sugar, uric acid, and the etiology of diabetes and obesity

      Abstract

The intake of added sugars, such as from table sugar (sucrose) and high-fructose corn syrup has increased dramatically in the last hundred years and correlates closely with the rise in obesity, metabolic syndrome, and diabetes. Fructose is a major component of added sugars and is distinct from other sugars in its ability to cause intracellular ATP depletion, nucleotide turnover, and the generation of uric acid. In this article, we revisit the hypothesis that it is this unique aspect of fructose metabolism that accounts for why fructose intake increases the risk for metabolic syndrome. Recent studies show that fructose-induced uric acid generation causes mitochondrial oxidative stress that stimulates fat accumulation independent of excessive caloric intake. These studies challenge the long-standing dogma that “a calorie is just a calorie” and suggest that the metabolic effects of food may matter as much as its energy content. The discovery that fructose-mediated generation of uric acid may have a causal role in diabetes and obesity provides new insights into pathogenesis and therapies for this important disease.

HEY MOOCHELLLE — TIME TO PUT THE MOOOOOoooo back into school lunches!

Hypothesis: could excessive fructose intake and uric acid cause type 2 diabetes?

….fructose intake correlates closely with the rate of diabetes worldwide. Second, unlike other sugars, the ingestion of excessive fructose induces features of metabolic syndrome in both laboratory animals and humans. Third, fructose appears to mediate the metabolic syndrome in part by raising uric acid, and there are now extensive experimental and clinical data supporting uric acid in the pathogenesis of metabolic syndrome. Fourth, environmental and genetic considerations provide a potential explanation of why certain groups might be more susceptible to developing diabetes….

Potential role of sugar (fructose) in the epidemic of hypertension, obesity and the metabolic syndrome, diabetes, kidney disease, and cardiovascular disease.

And here is the really big OH SH!T!!
The role of high-fructose corn syrup in metabolic syndrome and hypertension.

….Soft drinks and other sugar-sweetened beverages are now the primary sources of added sugars in Americans’ diets. The metabolic syndrome is a cluster of common pathologies, including abdominal obesity linked to an excess of visceral fat, fatty liver, insulin resistance, hyperinsulinemia, dyslipidemia, and hypertension. Trends in all of these alterations are related to the consumption of dietary fructose and the introduction of high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) as a sweetener in soft drinks and other foods. Experimental and clinical evidence suggests a progressive association between HFCS consumption, obesity, and the other injury processes. However, experimental HFCS consumption seems to produce some of the changes associated with metabolic syndrome even without increasing the body weight. Metabolic damage associated with HFCS probably is not limited to obesity-pathway mechanisms.

So even if your weight is OK, if you drink lots of sodas and other sugared drinks you still might have damage. List Of Foods That Contain High Fructose Corn Syrup note all the ‘fruit juices’ for kids.

Frankly, it bugs the heck out of me how hard it is to find marinara sauce that doesn’t have sugar added.

We should be worried because unpaid people like Tony Heller spend about x2 hours accessing and posting data that not only corrects misreporting of facts, but importantly, uncovers the agenda driven, ideological global warming lies that are intended to deceive/indoctrinate Wapo readers.
    Disgraceful.

People are much more likely to be water skiing in May in the NH, not snow skiing. I doubt many are concerned about one month when the actual ski seasons are seeing much more snow.
