Texas Is Vulnerable To Clueless Academics

Cross posted from my new blog : Texas Is Vulnerable To Clueless Academics | Real Science

Four years ago, Andrew Dessler of Texas A&M announced that Texas would be hot and dry for the rest of the century

That forecast turned out to be a complete disaster.

Temperatures in Texas have fallen over the past century, and have plummeted since Dessler made his forecast.

It is clear that climate experts like Dessler and Hayhoe have little understanding of what actually drives the climate, yet the press continues to quote these same people over and over again – no matter how many times they are wrong.

Vegas should start a book on these predictions. I will take the under.
Do you think any of the Khmer Verte will put their own cash up? I will take the under on that too.

Texas A&M academics are funded by the same Big Brother that funds Harvard and CalTech.

    • omanuel says:

The Robert A. Welch Foundation provides some independent research funding for academic chemists in Texas. At the Robert A. Welch Foundation Conference on Cosmochemistry at Rice University in 1977, the conference chair – Nobel Laureate Glenn T. Seaborg – allowed me to publicly confront proponents of the superheavy element fission hypothesis to explain away evidence of local element synthesis of elements in the solar system.

My comments were recorded and published, unedited, in the “Proceedings of the 1977 Robert A. Welch Conference on Cosmochemistry.”

I got my first taste of the nature of Mr. Andrew Dessler when he, along with Mr. Kevin Trenberth,
viciously attacked the work of Roy Spencer, which might have had some minor shortcomings, but as a whole, contributed quite well into the relative emptiness of climate science knowledge.
As a result the work was removed from publication and the gatekeepers won. If it is was to be challenged, it should have been in the usual and respectful manner, a process which in and of itself is a learning process.

So Mr’s Dessler and Trenberth, if you ever read this (I doubt that will happen) I hope you know that your actions are considered to be reprehensible and your scientific and human integrity is forever tarnished among a growing number of people. Whatever you present will be diminished.

Ms Hayhoe, the wife of a minister and daughter of missionaries has, it seems, has embedded herself in what she believes is a righteous cause. However, it seems she has simply shielded herself from anything that might pierce her sensitive emotions.

Saying she understood there to be some human caused changes in climate was alright.
Not allowing herself to analyze data to the contrary by way of filtering without reason and only accepting the cherry picked and skewed is the mark of an emotionally challenged scientific wannabe. Skepticism, done with respect, is at the heart of science. A good scientist will look for information to the contrary, to challenge it if needs be or accept it as necessary.

I do believe she relishes the positive feedback from the likes of Dessler, John Cook, or my home states John Abraham.

I read her book to hopefully learn what I am missing, Instead I found that I wanted to challenge her again and again. Then she associates with Cook and the absolutely pathetic Mann of hockey stick fame and apparently chooses only to accept what she wants in praise and scientific information from them. Honestly, high school students can see through the scientific shortcomings.

For me, the very nature of how the scientific community has evolved is very disheartening.
Then again, I expect I was simply very naive.

They are both despicable charlatans that have no business teaching anyone anything. Texas A&M and Texas Tech are both public state schools and the people of Texas are suffering a great injustice when their taxes go to pay such bottom feeders as part of the faculty. Even worse they are indoctrinating some of their kids.

    • omanuel says:

Among top-paid scientists* at Harvard, University of Chicago, CalTech and many other state universities are bottom-feeders who manipulated, modified or hid experimental data and observations that showed the Sun is the iron-rich remains of the supernova that:

      1. Made our chemical elements
      2. Birthed the solar system five billion years (5 Ga) ago
      3. Sustained the origin and evolution of life on Earth after 3.5 Ga ago
      4. Still controls every atom, life and world in the solar system today, including . . .

the constantly changing climate of every planet in the solar system!

Evolution of animals is also vulnerable to the clueless that are part of the “Global Warming/Climate Change Religion”. From the Un-Scientific American, ‘we are causing hybrid species’.

    • Yep… someone ought to list… chronicle the Weekly… if not Daily absurd assertions and scare tactics put forth by these folks…

Stormchasers??… the new Stormchasers are these Climate Change nuts who troll the Globe… daily… seeking any weather abnormality to headline in the context of Climate Change!! 99.99% of the Globe could be just fine… this week its a county in Texas… next week India is too hot.. people are dying like they do every year in this 3rd World cesspool… focus on the .0001%… make abnormal seem the norm!!

      • Andy DC says:

Yes, global warming was a non-starter. Climate change was a non starter. All the alarmists are left with is ghoulishly circling the globe, blaming every weather related death on evil fossil fuels and evil Republicans who won’t buy into this BS.

  6. Stephen Richards says:

Dessler was spreading his lies around twitter recently. They wont and can’t give up.

    • omanuel says:

You are right. They can’t give up now.

Seventy years (1945-2015) of falsehoods disguised as consensus science are at stake, and billions of dollars in research grants, and a large number of Nobel and Crafoord Prize awards!

If the give up now, the entire structure of post-WWII science will have to be rebuilt on a foundation of reality, rather than government propaganda.

      • lorne50 says:

Holy shit ? give it. Up you are now pissing me off move on please ?

        • Brad says:

Lorne50, just pass it over like most of us. When you see his moniker, move on to the next one. Don’t read it.

        • Brian H says:

Yeah, “scroll-by”. He has his own blog(s), with approximately zero traffic, so he haunts the few sites that haven’t banned him, like this one.

“June 4 was the beginning of the pivotal Battle of Midway in which an outnumbered, outgunned American naval task force improvised its way to a gritty and decisive victory over the Japanese Imperial Navy from which the latter never really recovered. Coming just seven months after Pearl Harbor, Midway is the sort of dramatic victory that makes free people proud of their tradition of liberty and the improbably victories that have sustained it.”

Freedom and Liberty can overcome almost anything set in it’s path. This fraudulent climate science and collusion by corrupt governments is nothing compared to other problems solved, like you know the WWII axis powers and that whole cold war thing.

    • Robertv says:

The Patriot Act had nothing to do with Patriotism so we can assume that The Freedom Act is NOT about liberties and freedom.

And now the thought police are gearing up for an offensive. Sheldon Whitehouse wants to use RICO laws to go after skeptics.
