More Detail On The Obama Alaska Comedy Act

Our dimwitted president thinks he can slow down the melting of Alaska’s glaciers

“If we stopped trying to build a clean energy economy and reduce carbon pollution, if we do nothing to prevent glaciers from melting faster and oceans from rising faster, and forests from burning faster and storms from growing stronger, we will condemn our children to a planet beyond their capacity to repair,” Obama said speaking at the GLACIER Conference.

Dr. Richard Keen of the University of Colorado generated this graph, showing that the rate of melt of Alaska’s largest glaciers peaked when Abraham Lincoln was president, and has been declining ever since.

Obama has no idea what he is talking about, and bases policy decisions on meaningless gibberish bouncing around his empty skull.

Obama is playing a role, just as Ronald Regan did when he declared, The Evil Empire is gone!”

  2. Psalmon says:

Alaska sure is a funny place to talk about sea level rise since it’s falling at nearly every tide gauge, many including Homer, Kenai and Valdez down nearly a foot in just 25 or 30 years.

  3. Both charted glaciers are now basically at zero. With increasing CO2. Hooray!!! So if we want to restore the glaciers back to their former glory, all we need to do is start REALLY ramping up the CO2 emission. Problem Solved! YAY!

Financial callapse series. by charles hugh smith
While collapse may be sudden, the decay that generated the collapse had been rotting away the foundation for years or decades. In distilling the vast literature on collapse into nine dynamics, I am drawing upon many other authors’ work, including:

Here are the nine dynamics of decay that lead to collapse:

    1. complacency and intellectual laziness – Check > Y
    2. profound political disunity – Check > Y
    3. rise of unproductive complexity – Check > Y
    4. those bearing the sacrifices opt out/quit – Check > Y
    5. decay of effective leadership – Check > Y
    6. rise of bread and circuses social welfare and entertainment to distract/placate restive citizenry – Check > Y
    7. decline of wealth-producing capacity–status quo living off financial trickery – Check > Y
    8. sclerosis–status quo controlled by vested interests – Check > Y
    9. resource depletion/environmental damage (if taking resources off the market by regulators) – Check > Y

we will condemn our children to a planet beyond their capacity to repair,”
Sure took being able to pay for the repairs off the table.

  5. Richard Keen says:

Steve, thanks for posting that Glacier Bay graph. The glaciers were also disappearing most rapidly a century ago on the other side of the world, Kilimanjaro: http://icecap.us/images/uploads/KILIMANJARO_KEEN.jpg
    Details at: http://icecap.us/index.php/go/joes-blog/lonnie_thomson_again_snow_cap_disappearing_from_mount_kilimanjaro/
Thought I’d post this as a pre-emptive in case Obama decides to give his same spiel back in his native Kenya.
BTW, I know Kilimanjaro is in Tanzania. But lots of people climb it from the Kenyan side.

Obama to propose building of new icebreakers to protect US interests in Arctic

“Currently, the U.S. has just two working icebreakers, compared to Russia’s 40.”

Obama: “We don’t need no stinkin’ ice breakers, the Arctic will be melted soon. Ha ha Russia, we will have the last laugh.”

and where do you think Obama is heading once his stint has US president is ended. !!!!

  8. Andy DC says:

Those evil horses of George Washington’s day sure did a lot of ecological damage. Since he was a slave holding, imperialist, capitalist white male, it has to be all his fault!

Facts never had anything to do with what bounces around that liars mind. It is all about politics and a long pathological hate for what made this country great.
