On September 30, 1953 almost half of the US was over 90 degrees, with 100 degree temperatures across much of the Midwest and south. The second hottest September 30 was a year earlier, in 1952.

Mt. Vernon, Indiana was 102 degrees on September 30, 1953 but hasn’t been over 90 degrees on this date since 1986, when CO2 was below 350 PPM. Experts say that hot temperatures are becoming more common, because they are either incompetent or dishonest.
