    It makes sense to want reliable energy rather than renewable energy! Of course with all the businesses leaving the region there will be plenty of spare energy sources on stand by.

    Why do they consider wind power renewable energy? The entire wind power system, which relies on Rare Earth Elements, needs to be replaced every 20 years. Why are REEs considered a renewable resource when they are mined just like coal and are finite just like coal? Can anyone enlighten me?

      It is the same with solar also! Of course Solar thermal locations with mirrors would probably have a longer life expectancy but the maintenance would still be higher per unit of energy produced than a coal fired plant.

    they have one of their renewable energy thingies accross the street. of course it was built in the 30’s.

    socal edison has a turbine at the bottom of a 1000ft waterfall coming out the 1000 Lakes Basin.
