Recycling Mindless Fear

Experts say New York will drown.

New York and London could be underwater within DECADES due to climate change |

Same story as 1934.

The only difference is that unlike now, it actually was hot in 1934.

I see what they do:A Hansen reloaded.
    3 decades of failed predictions
to be replaced by another 3 decades of failed predictions.
Seems that they are so sure that society is so dumb that they even don”t bother anymore with changing the lies.
And now we have proof that even Hansen was just a copycat of the 30ies.

The real ‘funny’ thing is that
of Hansens 1988 prediction “New York will be flooded within 30 years’
there isn’t even a 10 inch puddle in Manhatten which is result of global warming,
    buf his fans don’t care.
Even ‘funnier’-as soon as there is a 10 inch puddle in Manhattan that somehow can be related to global warming,
AGW zealots won’t say:”You incompetent liar missed the target by a trillion miles
and only 0.0000000000000000000001% of your predicted water has reached Manhattan ”
instead they will praise him for his incredibly prophetic and accurate predictions.

    Replace hell with AGW
Replace Priests with slimey liars in Suits.
    Replace Taboos with Political Correctness
    Replace Heretics with Climate Deniers
    Call your Witchhunts Anti Trump-Protests,
    Call your Ignorance Education
    and your intolerance good doing,

And here is your new religion.

    • RAH says:

      I think it’s more a cult than a religion.

      • Andy DC says:

A very stupid and poorly created cult at that!

        • Colorado Wellington says:

True, but you can’t argue with success. In the People’s Republic of Boulder I’m outnumbered by these cultists wherever I go.

          • Colorado Wellington says:

I expect any day now they’ll demand that the school district curriculum includes The Protocols of the Elders of Exxon or some such sensation they seem to be discovering week after week.

          • Andy DC says:

True, but with religious beliefs or a cult, there is little in the way of actual data that you can research to prove them wrong. In the US, there are many years of good weather records that shows they are FOS. Even a non scientist like me can research these facts and show they are wrong.

          • Colorado Wellington says:

Andy, you are right but my position is based on a lifelong experience with the holders of leftists beliefs. The global warming scripture was written by them and for them. It may fade in time enough to stop being a societal problem but they will not truly abandon it like they never fully rejected other failed leftist articles of faith. It will just be displaced by another cause du jour based strictly on its propaganda usefulness.

The Boulder leftist scene is Exhibit A for this assertion. Even after The New York Times admitted that American Communists were controlled and directed by Moscow, the archetypal well-to-do “Progressives” keep prattling about McCarthyism. Communism failed but their blather about the failure of deregulation never stops. Laissez-fail bumper stickers are popular among the local leftist intelligentsia and I think you know what they say when you point out that our over-regulated economy is anything but laissez-faire. The list could go on and on.

You are right that the global warming cult alone is stupid and poorly constructed, and should be easy to uproot. The problem is that it’s not a stand-alone phenomenon *). Facts and evidence don’t matter to the leftists, and the life path of people like David Horowitz is an exception, not the rule.

            ———-
*) It is educational to see the results of searching the web for “Marxism and climate change” as in
here but I think you know that.

It’s also useful to ask ourselves how many ardent believers in anthropogenic global warming we know who are not “Progressives”.

    • Kris J says:

Since it seems to be a religion, let’s use religious parlance:

“For lack of knowledge, my people perish…” – Oracle from 5th century bc

    • GW Smith says:

      Good writing.

  2. Kris J says:

Then of course there’s Gator’s “Alarmist Apostles’ Creed”, which captures the essence pretty well

    • gator69 says:

I’m afraid it’s a bit dated of late, but I feel certain there will be a New Testament before long…

      The Alarmist’s Creed:

I believe in AGW, the Mother of all apocalypse, destroyer of heaven and earth.

I believe in Al Gore, his only Movie, ‘An Inconvenient truth’, which was conceived by the Holy Alarmists, born of the fascist left, suffered under scrutiny, was panned, died, and was buried, it descended to the discount aisle. On an absurd day it rose again; it ascended into legend, it is in the DVD players of the faithful, and it will come to judge the deniers, and the evil oil companies.

I believe in the Unholy molecule, the holy IPCC Church, the communion of grantologists, the forgiveness of carbon, the resurrection of communism, and the lie everlasting.

      Amen.

      • Kris J says:

…. I see this is a revised one. How many versions of this do you have?

        • gator69 says:

I’ve penned a few (forgive me Father), but this is the only one I saved. Alas! Soon we will see the Second Coming of Al Gore’s wholly-crap progeny, and the end will be near.

  3. TimA says:

Well, if they got creative, they could create the “Canals of New York” which could potentially become a tourist magnet and solve the city’s street litter problem all at the same time!

    • RAH says:

Perhaps boats would do a better job of getting people around than the subway is right now in that city.

      • TimA says:

        Submarines when the subways flood….lol

      • Colorado Wellington says:

I don’t know. The New York City Transit Authority would find ways to clog and backup traffic even in the canals but at least the passengers could swim along if they were in a hurry.

Would manspreading be banned in the gondolas?

  4. Tommy Grand says:

I will defend the article. It is quite true that parts of NY might be underwater within “decades.” How many decades? Well, that depends. I expect that, at some point, over the next 55-65 decades, areas of lower Manhattan may find themselves submerged to a depth of 3-4 meters. Keep an eye on the Canary Islands. Just takes one tsunami….

    • arn says:

Well in a period of 50-10.000 decades New York will be flooded ,that’s for sure.
And most probably by a tsunami((of course caused by AGW-co2(tm) molecules :))

  5. CheshireRed says:

Science should introduce some sort of scoring system for papers that project or predict beyond a certain point into the future (eg beyond a human lifetime) so they’re deemed personal opinion only with zero scientific value attached.

Alluding to what ‘could’ happen 150 years from now but hogging all the headlines today is just pedalling modern-day snake oil. There should be no credibility and zero funding for this scaremongering.

    • Andy DC says:

Little green men from another planet “could” be invading Earth 150 years from now. There is no way that anyone can now disprove that statement.

Thus we need world communism and much higher taxes to protect ourselves from that mortal threat. The very survival of humanity depends on it!
