A Century Of Consensus Science

There is plant life on Mars but probably no animal life … a leading astronomer has reported

We see cracks and immediately infer they were “designed” by an intelligence. Hmmm…. interesting.
We see walking motor proteins powered by atp batteries carrying pre-sorted, manufactured components to predetermined destinations in the cell and shrug it off to randomness…

  2. Dave N says:

Plants built the canals! Triffids? They also must have driven SUV’s, causing the climate to be wiped out.

To anyone thinking that I’m being ridiculous: re-read those headlines.

  3. Margaret Smith says:

Amazing that a simple mis-translation of Italian ‘canali’ as canals instead of channels (like those things rivers cut) led to wild speculation. When I was young this was still going on. It takes a lot to kill an exciting, but false, story.

  4. Petit_Barde says:

Not under the Oceans but to Mars :

    – this is where the mysteriously missing heat content has gone, wiping out Martians BEFORE they could attack us.

You see AOC & Mckenna ? SUVs and cows’ farts and burps saved the World !

  5. Tom Robbins says:

We all know that the most vocal scientists are generally idiots. Name one scientists that was a self-proclaimed “expert” that gave some very wild prognostication in public and was ever correct. There are none. Science is a tool and a methodology – that’s all that it is, “scientists” are people, and can be tools, or can be some very dedicated people – but common sense dictates, if you are out warning the public all the time about a pet agenda you have embraced, you are not doing any critical thinking, or challenging your own assumptions – as the scientific method dictates, or doing any “real” science on your own, it simply takes too much time… this why the greatest minds in science tended to not be celebrity, until after something they published was verified and replicated, etc. ON THE OTHER HAND, history is replete with wannabes declaring the sky is falling – funny thing, after they are proven wrong, nobody takes them out and smacks them around in public, they just fade away….. Micheal Crichton, God rest his soul, names off each scientific agenda through the ages that has come to absolutley nothing…YouTube videos of his talks still are around..

  6. GW Smith says:

More proof that all scientists are correct and must never be doubted!

  7. ronnylee says:

The 1921 article says the Martians were “waging a fierce battle…by every means…fighting against extinction from rapidly dwindling air and moisture.” –in other words, they were fighting climate change. It’s an age old story.

  8. Weylan McAnally says:

I love this article and posted it to my FB page, much to the chagrin of my AGW believing friends.
