Titanic Sunk By Climate Change

The Titanic was powered by coal, which led to its own demise.

CBC Newfoundland and Labrador on Twitter: “NEW | Icebergs off N.L. coast ‘very dangerous,’ sign of climate change: federal environment minister #nlpoli #cdnpoli #nltourism https://t.co/rMlhWxD26y… https://t.co/QRYVM1zsZX”

Look at all that carbon pollution. And a year later, California reached 134 degrees.

she is an embarrassment to Canada…thank god we exported Hayhoe….

  2. G FARQUHAR says:

I believe McKenna believes Growlers and Bergy Bits are salad toppings served in a high end Toronto Bistro.

There is a good chance that she will be gone after the October Fed election.

This post of Tony’s just short-circuited my brain:

The Glacier That Produced the ‘Titanic’ Iceberg Has Suddenly Stopped Flowing

After a period of losing 66 feet of ice per year, the Jakobshavn Glacier is growing again…

    https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/one-greenlands-major-glaciers-thickening-again-180972187/#IeeThzB6DWBokERL.99

So it was shrinking due to climate change but now it is growing due to climate change.
I can’t determine exactly what is best for shipping here? I have so much cognitive dissonance I can’t even formulate a hypothetical theory or narrative. How do all these pieces come together to make any sense? Can someone help me?

    • Al Shelton says:

Natural climate change I might add.
CO2 had nothing to do with it.

    • Toto's fan says:

The amazing thing about Jacob’s Haven Glacier is the “scientists” had monitored a serious cooling of the ocean water temperature for two years but those same “scientists” where flummoxed by the glacier’s subsequent reversal.
Why is the term “common sense” an oxymoron?

“I can’t determine exactly what is best for shipping here? ”

Better radar and sonar for ships, silly! And satellites… :)

Also Catalan students are indoctrinated and stupid.

‘Several hundred young people from Barcelona abandoned their classrooms and lecture halls on Friday and braved the unseasonal rain to march for the environment as part of the international Fridays for Future student protests.’
    http://www.catalannews.com/society-science/item/hundreds-of-students-march-through-barcelona-to-highlight-climate-emergency

“It’s been so fulfilling,” said Gracie, a backpacker originally from Canada who decided to join in the protest. “I feel inspired by all these people who have come out to show the world what they’ve got and to stand up for tomorrow.”

    • arn says:

Isn’t it an incredible coiincidence that the youth all over europe started to protest at the same time??

The only bigger coiincidence is that icebergs still exist though the ice free arctic shouldn’t have any.
But somehow they blame it always on AGW.

(the biggest trick of the communists was and is to make educated peoole feel better and smarter than anyone else,
and since they changed the term from proleterian to progressive it works even better as progressive sounds so superior((every move is a move into the right direction no matter how stuoid, destructive or harmfull))
while proleterian sounded too much like “stupid farmer”.

      • Mark Amey says:

The same in Melbourne, Australia, students had a ‘lie in’ whilst listening to someone screeching into a microphone. Last month it was limp vegans doing exactly the same thing.

  6. Psalmon says:

Titanic disposed of 100 tons of coal ASH per day INTO THE ATLANTIC OCEAN. Everyone is so nostalgic for the Titanic, the elegance, the mystique! Well here’s some math:

    – Titanic burned 600 tons of coal per day, nearly 200 guys shoveled this per day.
    – One sixth of that became ash, which was lifted by a system from the boiler rooms which were below sea level, to exit ports and dumped overboard, 100 tons per day
    – Titanic sailed at 21 knots
    – 440 Nautical Miles per day
    – 453 pounds of ash per Nautical Mile
    – At 2400 passengers, this is the amount of ash each was responsible for dumping in the ocean to cross the Atlantic.

Not so luxurious. Can anyone imagine this being standard practice today?

Thankfully innovation and economic efficiency cleaned up this mess…but let’s destroy capitalism to save the environment.
