Yeah, not so much. Check out the siting of this “weather station”, view from the highway that runs right next to it.,4.2593928,3a,60y,90t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sVxprvN6pCBEKNrXcEpMIEw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

Pictures from the meteo website show a gravel parking lot, a black mass underneath, a chain link fence up against the back, and a plethora of steel and glass greenhouses.

    • Paul Homewood says:

Where do you get the locations from?

      • Gator says:

        Would you prefer this site?

Either way, it is pure crap.

I searched French websites to locate the offending station. The first station was listed by long/lat, and the second was located using the city name.

France on Friday recorded an all-time high temperature of 45.8°C on Friday, BBC reported. The temperature was recorded in the southern town of Gallargues-le-Montueux.

It appears that it was the second site that set the “official record”, but either way any rational human being who sees this now knows without a doubt that the “data” gathered at these locations is pure garbage and should never be used for anything other than entertainment.

They claim precision to hundredths of a degree, when their stations are doing good to get within ten degrees of the actual temperature.

Greta says “ we have to stop burning fossil fuels”.
    I don’t agree with that.
Why doesn’t she and her comrades simply stop using natural gas, gasoline or jet fuel and stop using electricity generated from fossil fuels?
If they weren’t such hypocrites, that would obviously reduce co2 emissions by some measure. Then weather would still be weather and the climate will continue to change. That would then leave lots of fossil fuels available for those of us that are gear heads and like cheap and abundant energy….

  3. Gator says:

Greta is a child. Who in their right mind, aside from her family, cares what she thinks? Seen, not heard.

  4. Richard says:

Lol Tony, i just went to her facebook page and wanted to look for your comment to check the link you posted and what a surprise it is gone…i get the following message after finishing scrolling through all comments

“Most Relevant is selected, so some comments may have been filtered out.”

amazing filter indeed it’s not climate runaway but society runaway

    • gunnar-f says:

I don’t think she is moderating her own Twitter page, it is done by some support organization. So any critical comment likely will not match a Most Relevant category by their book.

  5. arn says:

    As i said in january:
This winter was so cold(and still is)
that they will throw everything they have at the people in the same way they
    ignored the record cold winter.
(and terms like climate breakdown and emergency:
I would really like to see the definition of how a breakdown or emergency looks like.
    The temperature,
the timespan when it starts to become climate,

  6. Windsong says:

These “records” we hear about are all dubious. How much of the world is now roadway, railway, runways, and associated parking lots/airport aprons? The recent “record” in New Delhi was recorded at the seventh busiest airport in Asia. All this fossil fuel use the warmists worry about may be doing a good job adding extra heat straight to the highways, airport runways and taxiways long before the byproduct carbon dioxide makes its way into the atmosphere.

My nearby example, Spokane, is a case in point. Low this morning at the USHCN station at the airport: 48F. Low at the USCRN site 17 miles south: 36F.

  7. Bruce of Newcastle says:

Ok, Greta, I’ll repeat a comment I’ve just made on another blog.

One look at the jet stream map and you can see why it’s hot in France. Most recent NH one here.

There’s a big loop down from the north now located over Romania and another loop west of Ireland. Europe is on the hot side of the jet stream in both cases. So jet stream blocking is keeping hot southern air from moving east and the one west of Ireland is preventing cooler air from the sea from giving any relief.

The pattern is classic for solar minimum conditions, which caused the analogous great Moscow heatwave in 2010 (Google it!) And we’re now into the deepest solar minimum for a couple centuries.

No this is not due to CO2, it is due to the Sun.

    • Johansen says:

So it’s not a thin layer of CO2, high, high, up in the atmosphere over this town, acting as a thermal blanket after all?

  8. nfw says:

But it’s hot TODAY! Today is everything for climate. Just because it’s been hot before I existed doesn’t mean anything. History started with ME! If it’s cold next year then it shows it’s all about climate CHAOS! (Apologies for the shouting but it’s what the 12 year old do.)

  9. Darag says:

Unfortunately it looks like your comment was deleted from her stream, Tony. At least I couldn’t find it. Education resistance?

  10. iggie says:

Can someone check if this is correct.
I checked the actual temp for Gallargues-le-Montueux and the official temp appears to be 110F which is 43.3C – definitely not a record.
Villevieille was also recorded as 45.1C but official temp was 42.7C.
Maybe accu weather is not the official temp site.
Also notice that the Guardian story referring to this event has disappeared.
    Anyone know what’s going on?

  11. Stephen Richards says:

I do not believe this is the child that’s running this account.

    • Disillusioned says:

First thing I thought, also. Kinda like neo-con false flags to start war around the globe; it sticks out like a sore thumb.

    • Johansen says:

The ‘child’ has autism – or a mild form of autism known as Aspergers syndrome. These are very nice kids – I have had several of them in my classes – but they are **very impressionable** and very easy to influence. Translation: they are very, very vulnerable. They are not capable of running a blog-style account with complicated analysis of things. *No way*. Her parents are using her and scaring the crap out of her for financial gain

  12. Tony

Where do you get the locations from?

Have you got them for these other so-called highs:

  13. Redford says:

Can you provide a source to that 1821 heat wave claim? I can’t find it via google.

  14. Hug says:

    Hi guys.
Today is the last day of the heatwave, we expect 38°C (100F) in Paris. :(

Please, lend us Donald for a while. As far as i can see, he is much better than our little barker to bring back the freshness.

And thanks to Tony for his website i enjoy to read frequently.

  15. Psalmon says:

Nobody seems to want to talk about the below normal temperatures gripping Australia this Winter there, or how most of the US has been cold late Spring.

The ambulance chasing climate media hard at work.
