England Five Degrees Cooler Than 1976

This year’s “record hot” summer in England has averaged five degrees cooler than the summer of 1976.

CET

Same story as in Paris.  One hot day is climate, but an entire summer is just weather.

Leftists yearn for the end of the world, just so they can say, “See, I was right!”

    no it isn’t!

New record temp in July and it certainly was 10 c warmer than usual in July

    • richard says:

Griff, can you post you temp graphs comparing the whole of July 1976 Vs 2019?

    • tonyheller says:

Griff is now an official Central England Temperature denier.

      • arn says:

Isn’t it interressting that it was so much hotter during the global cooling scare than it is during the current global warming scare?

And that noone and his dog (s)cared in the 70ies about those “apocalyptic” temperatures because people were not told to do so by TV and “experts”.

If co2 only had 10% of the impact on climate as TV propaganda has on our minds the earth we be hotter than the sun.

    • MrGrimnasty says:

Griff, July 2019 was ranked about 40th in the CET, identical to 1923, 1870 and 1847.

One random hot day in Cambridge is not climate change, especially when the reading comes from a highly compromised weather station in constantly disturbed ground, in a public non-secure environment, in front of a new concrete and glass edifice, hard terracing, a restaurant, and enough industrial scale air conditioning vents to service a whole town.

We expect this nonsense from the BBC, but you are just sounding delusional now.

      no it isn’t!

It doesn’t get any more definitive than this, Ms Griff is a fact and reality denier. And she hates poor brown people, so let’s hope he doesn’t own any guns.

The mixed pronouns are confusing to this old man. I never did understand gender fluidity. Is it Edith. Or Ed? Or Either?

I was stationed in Germany the summer and fall of 1976 and it was very hot for Germany that is we had over a foot of dust on the tank trails at the training area. It did no good to polish boots as you would step off the concrete tent pad and be in about 3 inches of dust and no more shine.

  4. Andy says:

1976 was a very hot year. Out local reservoir , Greenbooth, had the tops of the houses from the abandoned village showing, due to the amount of evaporation.

Roll on 43 years and the hot summer, and it was hot for one day, means dams are now bursting at the seams, –

How things change! Perhaps it is climate change in the Uk, hot summers going from the Sahara to the Mekong delta :D

Record at a really bad temperature station.. SO WHAT !!

Ever heard of urban heat , little bed-wetting nappy-troll !!

Are they growing grapes in the open in Scotland like they did during the RWP?

    • Andy says:

What has that got to do with my two posts?

      Just askin

Even though I was agreeing with Tony not sure why the antagonistic argument, however I will take his points in turn

“Record at a really bad temperature station.. SO WHAT ”

I never mentioned any record at any station , you seem to have pulled this out of the ether and then decided to argue against your own claim. ????

“Ever heard of urban heat , little bed-wetting nappy-troll !!”

      ??

I was talking about a hot dry summer in 1976 v a wet summer in 2019 in the UK, as per Tony’s initial post commentating on that. What are you talking about ?

“Are hey growing grapes in the open in Scotland like they did during the RWP?”

No they are not. I am not aware they were growing grapes in Scotland in the past, it’s irrelevant to the discussion but I would be interested to see a link to that for educational purposes. I thought it was just Romans doing wine in England in the past.

I was replying to griff. must have landed in the wrong place.

griff is troll, he deserves EVERY bit of kick-back he gets

        You don’t like it… So what. !!

        “I am not aware ……..”

        Enough said.

      • R Shearer says:

Grapes grew abundantly in England during the MWP and before by the Romans. Nevertheless, there are many hardy varieties of grapes that can tolerate climates much colder than England today.
