Isn’t it interressting that it was so much hotter during the global cooling scare than it is during the current global warming scare?
And that noone and his dog (s)cared in the 70ies about those “apocalyptic” temperatures because people were not told to do so by TV and “experts”.
If co2 only had 10% of the impact on climate as TV propaganda has on our minds the earth we be hotter than the sun.

One random hot day in Cambridge is not climate change, especially when the reading comes from a highly compromised weather station in constantly disturbed ground, in a public non-secure environment, in front of a new concrete and glass edifice, hard terracing, a restaurant, and enough industrial scale air conditioning vents to service a whole town.

I was stationed in Germany the summer and fall of 1976 and it was very hot for Germany that is we had over a foot of dust on the tank trails at the training area. It did no good to polish boots as you would step off the concrete tent pad and be in about 3 inches of dust and no more shine.
1976 was a very hot year. Out local reservoir , Greenbooth, had the tops of the houses from the abandoned village showing, due to the amount of evaporation.
Roll on 43 years and the hot summer, and it was hot for one day, means dams are now bursting at the seams, –

I was talking about a hot dry summer in 1976 v a wet summer in 2019 in the UK, as per Tony’s initial post commentating on that. What are you talking about ?

No they are not. I am not aware they were growing grapes in Scotland in the past, it’s irrelevant to the discussion but I would be interested to see a link to that for educational purposes. I thought it was just Romans doing wine in England in the past.

Grapes grew abundantly in England during the MWP and before by the Romans. Nevertheless, there are many hardy varieties of grapes that can tolerate climates much colder than England today.
