Mission Accomplished!

The hardest thing to explain is the glaringly evident which everybody had decided not to see.

– Ayn Rand

The latest version of the Global Historical Climatology Network from NOAA has completely removed the 1940’s blip, the global warming hiatus, and the 1940s to 1970s global cooling.

Climate scientists said they were going to do it, and they did it.

As of 45 years ago, there was no net warming from 1870 to 1970, and about 0.4C cooling from 1940 to 1970.  That has all been erased.

The global warming hiatus, which was central to the IPCC report, has been erased.

Why is this happening under the Trump presidency? I thought he was draining the swamp. When are these fraudsters going to be prosecuted for data tampering and whatever else they are doing?

    • Aussie says:

I keep asking the same thing in Australia. We had the “climate change election” which the Coalition won, with the opposing Labour party very clearly going “all in” with huge spending on renewable energy etc. – which failed

But the government ABC has turned feral, and against its Charter, is pouring out a never ending spew of falsehoods under the “climate change” banner. Facts and science have been thrown aside in race to see how much of this rubbish they can pour out each day.

Where is Scott Morrison and his government? I personally think that demanding facts of those who make ever more wild predictions, which follow a long list of failures would be a vote winner. Just hoping it will all go away is not going to end well.

By Scott Waldman, E&E News reporter
The proposed White House panel that would conduct an “adversarial” review of climate science is dead for now, as President Trump grapples with negative perceptions of his environmental record at the outset of his reelection campaign. The monthslong push from within the National Security Council to review established science on climate change divided White House advisers and generated sharp opposition from researchers across the country. The effort, led by a physicist overseeing technology issues at the NSC, William Happer, stalled indefinitely amid internal disagreements within the White House, according to two sources.

“It’s been totally stymied by the forces of darkness within the administration, but also by the looming election campaign,” said Myron Ebell, a senior fellow at the conservative Competitive Enterprise Institute who led the EPA transition team under Trump. “The reelect campaign has been completely taken over by the usual cast of Republican establishment consultants who are primarily concerned with making very large amounts of money on the campaign,” Ebell said.

      • paul courtney says:

John: A brief history- Nixon (R) created the EPA, and grateful environmentalists stuck by him when trouble came (not). Reagan (R) tried to cut EPA entirely, failed at that but got re-elected (only 49 states). Bush I was more compassionate, nicer to enviros in particular, who helped him overcome a surprising challenge from the Gov of Arkansas (not again). Bush II much nicer to enviros, he liked oil but he threw money at greens, he beat Kerry but not because of any help from enviros. Each of these Rs had advisers telling them to mollify the greens. The Reagan example should tell Trump not to listen, push against the greens and win bigly.

“Each of these Rs had advisers telling them to mollify the greens.”
It sounds like our so-called conservative government over in Oz.

  2. Ken Davis says:

The swamp is rising :-) – seriously – this is dismal.

    • rah says:

I don’t see it that way. I see it as a sign of desperation. A desperation that is being shown in the big global swamp now nearly every day in one way or another. None of what is going on in the political realm these days is disconnected. Let me try to cheer you up. Watch this excellent video next time you have 27 minutes to spare.

Frist they suppress argument and decent , then they erase history. Sounds familar. I suppose reeducation( in special units) is next, then incarceration in asylums etc . Didn’t Hitler , Stalin and the Nazi KGB thugs do the same sort of thing. I wonder do the people who are erasing history realise that in the end they must be erased in some way to , to completed the job. My dad landed on D Day with the Ulster Rifles , fought his way across Europe and the Rhine and helped to Liberate Belsen , he would be stunned by what is going on today.Words fail me.

    • Winston Smith’s government job was the “rectification” of inconvenient facts by changing past records. Toward the end, as the eraser was being erased, he said “Do it to Julia!” Then, finally, he won a victory over himself. He loved Big Brother.

  4. John of Cloverdale, WA, Australia says:

“You are a slow learner, Winston.”
“How can I help it? How can I help but see what is in front of my eyes? Two and two are four.”
“Sometimes, Winston. Sometimes they are five. Sometimes they are three. Sometimes they are all of them at once. You must try harder. It is not easy to become sane.”
    ― George Orwell,

  5. Gator says:

Mosher, Hausfather, and Phail all say that this is the gold standard.

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

  6. Fairthorpe says:

With the same people in charge of making false reports of the historical temperature record also in charge of the records themselves, what can be done that would hold up in an honest court of law?

Have they actually erased, burned, or otherwise destroyed all the original temperature records?

  8. Ed Bo says:

But, but, but… The great and the good now tell us that the global cooling scare of the 1970s consisted just of a single Newsweek article!

  9. Steven Fraser says:

I wonder if the world temp charts being put out today fall within the error bars of those of 30 years ago?

  10. Winston says:

It’s even worse than you think. Pay attention to DC case Mann vs. The National Review.
