I call those signs the “True Believer irrational babble garbage yard sign”. Not one of those lines of faith makes logical sense.

According to Johnson the island will reach a “tipping point”. LOL!!

  3. Does Representative Jonhson know that a body rigidly attached to the sea bed has an infinite metacentre height? The Democrats may ‘believe in’ science, but apparently they don’t actually know any. It is a mantra of faith, not a demonstration of competence.

I thought the most precious moment in that clip was when the Admiral kept a straight face when the imbecile Johnson expressed his concern “No sir, we don’t anticipate that occurring.” And then Tony points out this imbecile has 80% support in his district.

  4. D. Boss says:

If this imbecile/idiot has 80% support from his constituents, what does that say of the intelligence of those people? Guam is going to capsize!?!?

The downward spiral of the so called educational system has reached it’s goal of severely dumbing down society if even 10% of voters want this person to represent them!

Likewise regards zealots who post signs like the one in the video. (stupid people are more dangerous than evil ones) (either there are way too many stupid people around or demonrats have rigged way more elections than we believe – or both)

A true scientist using the scientific method follows the data and evidence wherever it may lead regardless of what his/her preconceived notion of what the outcome should be.

Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥasan ibn al-Ḥasan ibn al-Haytham one of the earliest of the founders of the scientific method put it plainly enough.

“The seeker after the truth is not one who studies the writings of the ancients and, following his natural disposition, puts his trust in them, but rather the one who suspects his faith in them and questions what he gathers from them, the one who submits to argument and demonstration, and not to the sayings of a human being whose nature is fraught with all kinds of imperfection and deficiency. Thus the duty of the man who investigates the writings of scientists, if learning the truth is his goal, is to make himself an enemy of all that he reads, and, applying his mind to the core and margins of its content, attack it from every side. He should also suspect himself as he performs his critical examination of it, so that he may avoid falling into either prejudice or leniency.”

Now an example of the opposite. al-Ḥasan earned his title of scientist from what he did and discovered and the way he proved what he learned in his experiments with light, reflection, and refraction.

This is a person who has been granted the title of scientist with no notable discoveries or other accomplishments in his field. I am talking about Andrew Dessler.

  6. It is not the existence of junk science which is at issue, merely its validity. Junk science is all too real.
