My Second Query To The Climate Science Rapid Response Team

Global temperature records from HadCRUT and GISS show that the period from 1910 to 1940 warmed nearly as quickly as the period from 1970 to 2000. 1913 set the all time temperature record in North America, and during the 1930s, as much as 80% of the US simultaneously suffered from drought.

1937 saw the most powerful hurricane to ever hit the US, and the 1940s saw the most US hurricane strikes of any decade.

What caused these severe climatic patterns during the first half of the century?

The all-time hot daytime record for Australia of 53.1°C. set at Cloncurry, Queensland in 1889. Valuable research money and academic effort was spent in a futile effort to discredit that one record (Trewin, B., Aust. Met. Mag. 46 (1997) 251-256). There is one all-time hot record that is the ultimate global prize: 58°C (136°F) set at Al Aziziya, Libya, in 1922. This was the hottest temperature ever recorded anywhere in the world and has stood for 80 years in spite of real or imagined `global warming”. It is even noted in the Guinness Book of Records. But 1922 is a long time ago and the longer it stands, the less convincing are the claims about global warming in the eyes of the public.

80%, boggles the mind. Must have been frightening. I am guessing that many people who never prayed before did then.

    The answer will be:

    ———————————————————————————————–

    Dear sir,

Blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah blah, that doesn’t apply to modern global warming, blah. Blah, blah, blah, furthermore, blah, blah, blah. Global warming is happening. Blah, blah blah. We must act now blah, blah.

    Thank you for your inquiry,

    Blah, blah,

    Ms. thus and so

p.s., I suppose you think smoking doesn’t cause cancer too!

Just to set the record straight, the most powerful storm to hit the US was in 1935, not 1937. That was the Labor Day Hurricane that struck the Florida Keys.

Can you ask them also if the TSA is going to start a pandemic?

    • North America’s temperature record was set on July 10, 1913 at 134 degrees. Strike one for you. How on earth did you get that one wrong?

My first sentence started with the word “Global” which you chopped off to create a (very lame) straw man argument about North America. Strike two.

You don’t understand why the cause of the severe weather from 1900-1950 is an important question? Strike three -. back to the bush leagues for you.

That was the lamest “debunking” I have ever seen.
