It is amazing that anyone with a scientific background could attempt to blame it on surface conditions. The temperature at that depth is in excess of 300C, near the base of the Earth’s crust.

I to find it hard to give credence to this idea
ROFLMAO!
You should go into Show Business!!!!
What A line!!!!
Steven:
See Global warming brought on by human activities warmed the earth’s crust!!!!! There is so much CO2 in the water that the seas are soon to be boiling and we will only need to walk to the beach to pick up precooked sea food!!
Boiling in ice and snow maybe… since warm=cold… errrr warm=snow… uh….. yeah.
Ah, whoops.. I was out by 2km in a comment from an earlier article. Sorry.
Less than twice the actual distance is consistent with reality. Anything from 0 to 26K would have put you in the ball park and anything over 6K would qualify you to be a climatologist! 😉
Climatology is better than Hand grenades and Horseshoes because the closest is not always the winner. The most outrageous claim usually wins!
The temperature at that depth is in excess of 300C …….. No way! Al told me it was several million degrees!

Good link. Video big Al blathering about he knows nothing about again, and some actual figures for the novice.
Al Gore has less scientific knowledge than my cat.
She figured out that the Sun warms the Earth the first time I let her out in the garden. (:-
suyts – I am devastated! How could my high priest – algore – have been so wrong! It was taken out of context I tell you!
The funniest part was that he had been bloviating about geo-thermal energy uses in a book the was pandering.
I’m sure it was well worth a read.
My hypothesis is that geothermal energy sites in rich nations have caused disruption in tectonic continuity in poor nations.
Now that is funny, I don’t care who ya are!
