As I predicted, Gavin has reached a tipping point. He claims that September was hottest on record. More accurate satellite data shows that it was only 15th warmest since 1979, and just above average.
Over the past five years, GISS September temperature is diverging from RSS at 12.7°C per century, with a nearly perfect R-squared correlation greater than 0.98.
Once again, this seems to be largely due to Antarctica extrapolations.

Of course it is by no means certain when the error margins are taken into account for monthly figures.
Strangely neither the NH or SH are individually the warmest, the combined global anomaly is.
2005 was the warmest in the NH and 2013 in the SH.
There can be little doubt that record Antarctic sea ice was caused by record heat.
Clearly it is “dark heat” …
this (13 °C/century), in the end, will be their comical Ali, their climatical Ali moment …
on tv, your neighbourhood will be sunny, while, when you look outside the window, it will be snowing …
That’s already a problem for them on occasion. They deal with it by telling everyone that the extreme heat is somewhere other than where they live.
RTF
Already happenned.
In mid February 2014 Wundergound was showing above freezing and rain at the weather station down the road while on my farm it was 3-6 inches of snow and two inches of solid ice in the stock tanks.
Soon, everyone will be required to have a “smart” thermometer. The new thermometer will be connected to a central system, so that adjustments can be made remotely, as necessary.
Then, ALL observations will match the “climate models”.
(You heard it here first!)
Comical Ali was a man ahead of his time.
Apparently they know where the missing heat is even if no one else can find it.
Yeah, in an office in ‘Happy Valley’ (Penn State) or Maryland or England…and they put it to use cooking the books.
Except when you use the WMO-recommended baseline (1981-2010), and the more realistic 250km extrapolation instead of the ridiculous 1200km, the picture looks somewhat different, and entirely less “scary”

Now you get a global temperature anomaly of 0.36C, which compares with the UAH anomaly of 0.29C. Close enough for government work.
Nice bit of chartsmanship there, Gavin.
There is no data for many areas….
It is still 155 miles.
In one direction from me (148mi) it is 61.7 °F and in the other direction ( 126 Mi) 77.4 °F
That goes from the middle of the mountains to the Atlantic ocean. The climate of the two places are completely different. The earth is not a billard ball or a pancake.
Actually, proportionally speaking the Earth is spherical enough to be within the roundness tolerances allowed for billiard balls. Only “Greenhouse Gas” proponents believe that the Earth is a pancake.
Can’t find the date on this Daily Mail article but I think it is recent. It is tough to tell since Russia cut supplies in June also. Looks like Putin is flexing some muscle and the EU is about to find out just how much ‘Green Energy’ stinks.

Why does that GISS vs. RSS anomaly look so familiar…. hmmmm…. oh yea, it looks just like the USHCN adjustments vs. CO2 graphs that Steven(Tony) keeps diligently producing. I wonder if the CO2 trend matches these anomalies as well?
Let’s run with it… So this must mean that surface temperatures are increasing much faster than the troposphere, so therefore, it is the lapse rate that is changing. And if the lapse rate is changing, we may deduce that the root cause is an increase in gravity. So there you have it, CO2 causes gravity to change, and THIS is what causes the missing heat. The extra work caused by the extra gravity caused the atmosphere to compress, making it warmer at the surface. QED. Excuse #55.
Classic!
The Mann-made hokey stick!
