This happened during solar maximum of the present cycle C24 (2012-2014), and because it will probably be a long cycle, it’s reasonable to expect the trend to continue at least until the beginning of the 2020’s…
At which time the AMO is expected to revert to it’s cold phase and all bets are off on reduced sea ice in the Barents and Kara seas.
