But They Are The Eccentrics And Extremists …..

The author is starting to get a clue, but hasn’t quite figured it out yet.

GLOBAL warming is a problem for science, not spirituality.

If serious scientists want to create a consensus that human action is causing global warming they should ask the eccentrics and extremists to shut up. Claims that freezing winters show the planet is getting hotter, admissions that expected sea-level rises, creating 100 million refugees, are wrong and warnings that glaciers will melt, which turn out to based on hyperbole not scientific hypothesis, all understandably encourage sceptics who think global warming is a con. This in turn delays, even derails, debates about the extent of climate change and what can be done about it.

Er what derails the debate? The blatantly wrong predictions themselves, or the sceptics who see that they are blatantly wrong.
They seem to think that if the sceptics didn’t see that the predictions were wrong (even though they were) then the debate could continue as post-normal.
Can’t we have a 101 in rational thinking as a pre-requisite to a ‘Right to Vote’?

This IS the laugh riot of the day.

Met Office.. Shhhhh. We knew it was going to be cold but we didn’t tell the peasants….. Why would we. They would confuse the warming with cold.

Met Office knew big freeze was coming but hushed it up

  3. Mike Davis says:

That is a complete contradiction to a claim that the MET said there was an 80% chance of above average Winter temperatures in October because Cold winters rarely come back to back and three in a row is unheard of.
Which version is correct? I think the first one! This is a CYA to cover the claim that MET does not make public seasonal forecasts anymore.

    How funny can you get………
We predicted it right, we just didn’t tell anyone

  5. Mike Davis says:

There would not be so much concern about a fictitious problem if the media did not get involved and try to create important NEWS from conjecture!
How much advertising funds are the media receiving to promote “the sky is falling”?

I tipped 6 of 8 winners at the races, but didn’t place a bet.

  7. Justa Joe says:

Once one strips away all the crazy hyperbole it becomes obvious that there is no basis for the alarmist, and no alarmism means no advancement for the underlying political agenda.

  8. PhilJourdan says:

While the author has a valid point (about silencing the scaremongers), he misses a critical point – that is all there is in the religion! The common sense ones that are trying to honestly explore an hypothesis (like Judith Curry) cannot generate trillions of dollars in government vigorish.
