I am off to Lisbon for the week, to participate in an EU meeting organized by Jerome Ravetz – “Workshop Conflict Resolution on Climate Change.”
I won’t be posting as much this week, but will try to keep everyone updated. Have fun and stay warmcold.

Conflict resolution?!?
What, the Warmers want to blow us up more compassionately?!?
Yeppers, it was they way they wanted to blow us up that thwarted the cause. But, no more! Now they’ll learn a new technique that convinces us that we want to be blown up!
Steve, I can’t wait for the report on that one. Have fun!
What is the “Workshop Conflict Resolution on Climate Change.”
It sounds a little ‘Warmist’ to me. ;>)
Lisbon??
Why not Cancun, Tahiti, Bali……………………
Take lots of warm clothes…
….these things tend to make temperatures drop like a rocket
Don’t go native!
Hope you are packing warm clothes. I understand it is supposed to be cold (displaced from the Arctic).
I prepared for rain and cold, though I am sure it will be warmer than Colorado has been!
Portugese Inquisition?
Bolton 0, Chelsea 4…
Hope that makes the flight go quicker. (:-
Probably too late fr them this season. I hear Drogs is headed to Madrid.
Steven,
Best wishes for a great trip from one road warrior to another. Looking forward to your take on this conference. After all, we are all in this together (until we find another planet).
I brought my boots and am just hoping to find some pickup football in the park (in between bike rides.)
Sounds cool! I’ll look forward to the updates.

Accuweather.com blogger:
-30 in in four US states last night
Here are some additional stats for the Northeast. Incredibly, four states were at or below -30 F, including almost two dozen stations in New York…… These readings are far below anything seen this season, or for that matter, last winter.

Global warming sure is making it cold!
If memory serves the coldest month is February normally.
Do you recall the saying: We Aint Seen Nothing Yet!
It takes a while for the lag to take effect when the sun is queit just like it takes a while for the heat to be felt when it starts warming up.
Steven:
Good luck and enjoy the show!
I saw the list of participants over at Judith’s site! (Flip Hand).
I will be interested in your comments regarding the panel.
Weather progs look unusually cold for Lisbon. Take your warmcold coat!

BBC reporter:
The BBC became a propaganda machine for climate change zealots, says Peter Sissons… and I was treated as a lunatic for daring to dissent…..
For me, though, the most worrying aspect of political correctness was over the story that recurred with increasing frequency during my last ten years at the BBC — global warming…… Environmental pressure groups could be guaranteed that their press releases, usually beginning with the words ‘scientists say?.?.?.?’ would get on air unchallenged…… the BBC had held ‘a high-level seminar with some of the best scientific experts and has come to the view that the weight of evidence no longer justifies equal space being given to the opponents of the consensus’….. the 30 key BBC staff who attended. None of them, he said, showed ‘even a modicum of professional journalistic curiosity on the subject’. None appeared to read anything on the subject other than the Guardian.…… an MP used BBC airtime to link climate change doubters with perverts and holocaust deniers, and his famous interviewer didn’t bat an eyelid….. ‘What happened to the journalism? The BBC has completely lost it.’……

Looks like temps in the mid 50’s (F) in Lisbon. That’s shorts/Tshirt weather for a Coloradan….
Gotta wonder what “conflict” needs resolving. Maybe Portugal’s conflict is paying for their greenie windmills?
Just a tad nippy outside…

Steven –
Whilst you’re in Lisbon, spare a thought for the UK, where carbon rationing is on its way within 10 years, according to Bloomberg:

Cheers,
HtL.
Stay out of the Matues.
