97% Of Scientists Believed That The Continents Can’t Move

What kind of anti-science person would go against that consensus?

  1. Latitude says:

    a glorified weatherman

  2. UzUrBrain says:

In the 5th grade (about 1950) I took a paper map of the world, cut out all of the continents and shoved Africa up next to North and South America, and noticed they fit almost perfectly and asked my teacher “When did the continents move apart?” I was promptly, and sternly (that is why I remember it so vividly) “The continents have always been exactly where they are now!”

  3. Tony Duncan says:

And 97% of Scientists didn’t believe Arrhenius. Interesting how his history so closely parallels Wegener’s.

    • Mike Davis says:

The self promoter that claimed to be a scientist and was the most discredited scientist until Mann decided to walk in his footsteps and took away his
honor by replacing him in Infamy! These guys made Lex Luthor look like he was doing science fair stuff for school!

      • Tony Duncan says:

        Mike,

Yeah what science did that idiot ever REALLY do that has any relevance today. Well, except for that equation that bears his name, and the proper understanding of ions. Any self promoting chemist can convince those know nothings to hand him a Nobel prize!

      • Tony Duncan says:

        Steve,

You must be right. I mean with all the satellite and spectroscopy info he had in 1902, how could he have been such an idiot? I mean EVERY scientists then knew Venus was 800°F and had a surface pressure of 90 atmospheres. How everyone laughed at him during his rants about molten forests.

        • Ivy league genius and drug abuser Carl Sagan told us that the high temperatures on Venus were due to the chemical makeup of the atmosphere. He had satellites and spectroscopy and still had no clue what he was talking about.

      • Tony Duncan says:

Something we can agree on. The beatification of Sagan has always escaped me. He said so much stuff that was just foolish and pretentious, and I think he just thought if he had an idea it must be right.

Arrhenius got his nobel for for an actual discovery that changed the science of Chemistry. And I would say that 99.9% of climate scientists think his conclusion about the greenhouse effect is real a hundred years after he discovered it.

    • Tony Duncan says:

      Yeah,
Like that idiot Newton. Who would believe that physics garbage from an alchemist.

      • Mike Davis says:

He submitted his own name for the Nobel Prize in contradiction to the rules he helped create.
Alchemy was the forefather of Physics and most physical sciences like chemistry. Just like Astronomy was a subset of Astrology!
