To own a polar bear hide you should be willing to a least hunt down the biggest polar bear and take it from him with your bare hands, It may not be a fair fight, but it would feed the growing population of bears and rid the human population of people who clearly have too much wealth, it would also make entertaining viewing for me when I’m board at work.
Around 1,000 polar bears are killed via hunting each year. In 5 years that’s 5,000 out of the estimated population of 20,000 to 25,000 polar bears. It’s easy to see that the greater threat to the bears is hunting and not the climate. They survived ice-free central Arctic Ocean during the past 11,000 years.
How does one get a polar bear hunting license? I’m not a hunter but I really want to kill one of those green-maniac symbols… just so I can give it the finger while it lies dying in the warm snow. Perhaps that’s a bit crewel, but to hell with it. I hate them.
I’m from North Bay and the fur auction has been going on for decades. In the 1980’s it was almost shut down due to European embargos of pelts.
The people employed in this industry are working where NO industry exists. Natives, Metis, Whites all rely on this type of livelyhood in communities FAR off the beaten path. Trappers have hundreds of miles of trap lines and must live in the bush for extended periods. If you want to live without energy, trapping is a great alternative occupation.
It’s also well known in ‘the Bay that seals are indeed the sneakiest animals and are always getting family and friends lucrative ‘city jobs’ at the expense of others… they’re not well liked.

Only hot chicks should be allowed to have Polar Bear rugs.
Agreed. It just isn’t right to see a beached whale on a bearskin.

I just heard the seals give a big sigh of relief…………………
Kill the bears….
…save the seals
Its a strategy to increase the availability of seal skins.
There’s a distinct possibility that the seals cooked this whole thing up from the get go………………
