McKibben : CO2 Is The Worst Thing That Ever Happened

We have to fight, finally, without any guarantee that we are going to win. We have waited late to get started and our adversaries are strong and we do not know how this is going to come out. If you were a betting person, you might bet we were going to lose because so far that’s what happened, but that’s not a bet you’re allowed to make. The only thing that a morally awake person to do when the worst thing that’s ever happened is happening is try to change those odds.

He should have traded places with someone in a concentration camp. Gas chamber, or 390ppm CO2? What a DB

It won’t be long until prominent warmists are claiming that being exposed to +350 ppm of CO2 is equivalent to being shoved into a gas chamber and experiencing a very high concentration of Zyclon B only worse.

Here’s another politician who compared climate sceptics to holocaust deniers, Tony.

Caroline Lucas, the Green MEP for the South East, issued a statement saying those who question the science behind climate change are akin to those who maintain there was no “ethnic cleansing” by the Nazis during the 1930s and 1940s.

Scientists, you can’t live with em and you can’t make soup out of em.

Richard Feynmen had a much more interesting view of CO2, i.e., the fire of burning wood is from the sun. Feynman thought CO2 is good:

Being a denier is a serious crime in the minds of many warmists. Here’s David Suzuki in 2008:
He urged today’s youth to speak out against politicians complicit in climate change, even suggesting they look for a legal way to throw our current political leaders in jail for ignoring science – drawing rounds of cheering and applause. Suzuki said that politicians, who never see beyond the next election, are committing a criminal act by ignoring science.

Is Suzuki a serious person? I don’t think he is. I think he is not much more than a cartoon character. So what he finds to be serious is just cartoon serious.

(Sorry for the double post. Sometimes I’m a klutz.)
I agree, you and I may not take his type of “scientist” seriously, but unfortunately those in power often do. In Australia the Labour government plans to enact a carbon tax which will not help the environment at all but may seriously damage their own
economy. In the US the EPA has decided that CO2 is a pollutant and plans to control it under the Clean Air Act. The elected government may not be able to stop them because Obama threatens to veto the anti-EPA bill and rule by fiat. Serious stuff, no?

I thought global warming was not a popular issue in Australia.

Unfortunately Suzuki is worse than a serious person, he’s a seriously passionate and dedicated to the cause person. Unfortunately he should use less passion and actually get the claims be believes in verified. The CBC has long given him a major soap box.

Here’s an interview of him on the CBC just after Climategate broke down Copenhagen. He rants epic.

Oh, as an aside when I was in my early twenties I rented him my Apple ][e system for this show. Can’t say that I’m proud of that anymore as he’s turned from being a person respected for being a scientist to being someone who ignores actual real science and who has fallen for the statistical data fabrication follies of Hansen, Mann, Jones, et. al..

      • Al Gored says:

I knew Suzuki back in his UBC days and for a while after.

One should never give a platform to someone with that many serious ‘issues’ due to his childhood internment camp experiences… but they did. His repressed anger bubbles out sometimes when he lets it slip. Sociopath.

Now I’m starting to wonder what lurks under Obama’s thin skin given his weird childhood. All that rejection combined with his Commie mentor, followed by his magical ascent thanks to somebody.

Hope he never gets too mad, at least while he is president, cause who knows what could happen.

For what appears to be a person suffering from advanced lunacy, McKibben seems to lack imagination. Anthracophobia will do that.

It’s all coming unstuck for them now.

  7. Jleon says:

Somebody needs to tell “Moonbat” Mckibben that he missed his ride to utopia with the Heaven’s Gate bunch in March of 1997. Or maybe he would have a better outlook on life if someone would quit hiding his tricycle and quit stealing his ice cream cones!

Re the young Power Shift idealogues, some encouraging words from Anthony Downs, written back in 1972:

“Some proponents of improving the environment are relying on the support of students and other young people to keep this issue at the center of public attention. Such support, however, is not adequate as a long-term foundation. Young people form a highly unstable base for the support of any policy because they have such short-lived “staying power.” For one thing, they do not long enjoy the large amount of free time they possess while in college. Also, as new individuals enter the category of “young people” and older ones leave it, different issues are stressed and accumulated skills in marshaling opinion are dissipated. Moreover, the radicalism of the young has been immensely exaggerated by the media’s tendency to focus attention upon those with extremist views. In their attitudes toward political issues, most young people are not very different from their parents.”

Check out the words: “a morally awake person“. He’s saying everybody else is not “morally awake”. It’s a very short step from considering us “morally dead” and then “subhumans”.

And what would anybody want to do with “subhumans”? Ask Himmler.

  11. Andy Weiss says:

The lack of warming is the worst thing that ever happened to climate experts and their media lap dogs.
