A high school friend sent me this today.
This year, July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. This happens once every 823 years. This is called money bags. So, forward this to your friends and money will arrive within 4 days. Based on Chinese Feng Shui. The one who does not forward…..will be without money.
That sounded ridiculous, so I checked it out. The last time that happened was 2006, and the next time after 2011 will be 2016, followed by 2022 and 2033. It happens every time July 1 falls on a Friday.
Too bad Manhattan will drown before the next one.
See? If it weren’t for global warming it wouldn’t have been happening this often!
You’re right; it’s only since 1752 that the English-speaking world adopted the Gregorian calendar and has had leap-years every four years (except, of course, for 1800 and 1900). All those February 29s add up, you know. It is no coincidence that the world has warmed measurably since 1752. QED
It is a testament to the intelligence (or lack thereof) of many internet users. They blindly accept anything they receive as true, and forward it on.. “just in case”.
Sounds like Steve knows a friend from his school, who just got high.

The real joke is that you actually went and checked such a completely random claim
People take time to check out the equally ridiculous claims made about human induced global warming. There are fools that even believe those claims.
Well said! Now, where is that hotspot?
http://www.weatherbell.com/jb/?p=1749 😉
the hotspot is a wild goose chase, if it’s there it might be due to something else and if it’s not there something else might be masking it.
AGW has no verifiable predictive abilities apart than in multidecadal statistics
Multidecadal statistics only show a change in temperatures not what caused it. Long term natural weather patterns have shown to contain multidecadal warming and cooling trends also. It would take another 400 years of warming to be outside of natural weather variations that are displayed in the historic records!
Mike – I stand corrected. I’ll volunteer to stick around and report in the 25th century.
The Punch line – And they vote! I have actually seen that one, but dismissed it without thinking. Anytime I get one of those “forward” emails, I automatically delete it.
