I made this post questioning if the “passing” was legit and it didn’t get approved. All the other posts that gave their “condolences” got approved.

This website was hacked in August 2011. That’s the reason that Steven Goddard made www. Real-Science.com in the first place.
No. real-science.com was created for the ad revenue. This site was always secure.
When it appeared I didn’t understand the post I thought it was refering to the blog proprietor’s father.
We need to know who, and we need to spread their name far and wide.

I tried to confirm the details before making a confidential [i hope] reply…one comment from “Jonathan Smith” stated he’d been on the phone with Steven just prior to a police computer raid. Hopefully this is another part of this hoax. My thanks to Marc Morano for correcting this error to me and my limitted CC list on this issue. Best wishes for continued AGW agitation !

Not sure if this is related, but for the last week or I have been blocked from accessing real-climate.com. Perhaps the hacker created an IP address block.
I’ve had this problem as well. Real-Science is probably an appealing target for quite a number of AGW zealots. Careful reconsideration of where real-science.com is hosted would seem like a prudent thing IMO.
Concerning my IP block, it was malwarebytes that reported it and said it was coming from cloudflare.com.
Interesting. I’m not sure what cloudflare.com is, but I have seen numerous error messages from them this week too when I tried to post.
Well tis interesting that when I ask my browser for the “web inspector” it all comes up cloudflare, and since it is a utility designed to make it easier

I’m running w/o antivirus software and have had the occasional problem connecting to real-science.com, even when other sites seemed to function normally.
This may be associated w/ site maintenance, but it has happened a disconcerting number of times over the past few months.
If you look at the source of the web page, cloudflare is accessed when the page loads. This explains the problems with cloudflare (and perhaps some of the other problems). It’s getting pretty common for there to be a lot of reference to external sites on blogs for advertising/tracking/functionality, etc.

This is not surprising at all. Not at all. If one can’t win on the science, then resort to subterfuge. It’s another indication that we’re dealing with sociopaths. The NASA scientists who recently complained about lack of science at NASA GISS-NCDS understand what is happening.
We are dealing with a new, and not advanced, global warming secular religion. And if you don’t genuflect before them, you’re an apostate. It’s all silly nonsense, but not in their uncritical minds.
The Green Religion is scary. The government school system is programming impressionable young children to not think. And pouring billions of dollars into this junk science and those who promulgate the stuff will be the death of us all.
Dwight Eisenhower warned us. We’ve seen lately what happens with “government funded” science.

1) How come there was a medical ‘centre’ at Dallas?
2) If the paramedics performed CPR in the ambulance – unsuccessfully – death would be declared upon admission, or shortly afterward. Not after 2 freaking hours, you crackpots.

Last week when this hacking apparently took place; my Malwarebytes program refused entry to the site. So I would suggest everyone who did enter the site at that time, that they check their computer for infections. Keep up the good work Steve.

This was very bazarre. I saw the “announcement” and immediately thought that several things about it did not seen right. Then I commented “please someone tell me that this is a joke.” My c0mment went into moderation and never was posted. Then I started seeing all these condolences from people whose names I had never seen commenting on the site before.
I feel like I just woke up from a nightmare. I am glad that you are OK.
I think there is a case for calling in law enforcement agencies to investigate this matter. It has, without doubt, caused much stress to many who read the email and honestly believed the contents.
Death is not a laughing matter. But concocting someone’s death on the internet must surely be the lowest of the lowest.
Anyway, good to see it is not true… after all, the world needs all the Steven Goddards of the world to fight the fight against the many government funded climate change charlatans who are continuously pushing their man-made global warming religion to the masses.

I just figured some guy named Steven Goddard who was 81 died and you posted it. I was surprised to see so many fall for it. Dallas didn’t make sense, nor did 81. 81 would be a bit of a late start for someone doing graphics work on video cards or being a C++ wizard.
I have been seeing strange things on your site for weeks… Even right now, it is saying it is still connecting on the Real-Science tabs (pages never “finish” loading, like a tag is missing or something… There were times that I was getting old pages (like a week old) instead of the new one, but other PC’s were OK. Not sure if that is related.
But I’m glad you’re OK nonetheless…
