Global Warming Just Like “400,000 atomic bombs every day”

The global warming movement gets sicker and more disgusting with their lies every day.

It turns out that the pleasant Chicago weather during March was much more severe than the weather in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945

“The temperature of the air at the point of explosion reached several million degrees Celsius (the maximum temperature of conventional bombs is approximately 5,000 degrees Celsius). Several millionths of a second after the explosion a fireball appeared, radiating white heat. After 1/10,000th of a second, the fireball reached a diameter of approximately 28 meters with a temperature of close to 300,000 degrees Celsius. At the instant of the explosion, intense heat rays and radiation were released in all directions, and a blast erupted with incredible pressure on the surrounding air.”

Dr. Hachiya and his wife make there way to the street. As the homes around them collapse, they realize they must move on, and begin their journey to the hospital a few hundred yards away.

After the Blast”We started out, but after twenty or thirty steps I had to stop. My breath became short, my heart pounded, and my legs gave way under me. An overpowering thirst seized me and I begged Yaeko-san to find me some water. But there was no water to be found. After a little my strength somewhat returned and we were able to go on.

I was still naked, and although I did not feel the least bit of shame, I was disturbed to realize that modesty had deserted me. On rounding a corner we came upon a soldier standing idly in the street. He had a towel draped across his shoulder, and I asked if he would give it to me to cover my nakedness. The soldier surrendered the towel quite willingly but said not a word. A little later I lost the towel, and Yaeko-san took off her apron and tied it around my loins.

Our progress towards the hospital was interminably slow, until finally, my legs, stiff from drying blood, refused to carry me farther. The strength, even the will, to go on deserted me, so I told my wife, who was almost as badly hurt as I, to go on alone. This she objected to, but there was no choice. She had to go ahead and try to find someone to come back for me.

Yaeko-san looked into my face for a moment, and then, without saying a word, turned away and began running towards the hospital. Once, she looked back and waved and in a moment she was swallowed up in the gloom. It was quite dark now, and with my wife gone, a feeling of dreadful loneliness overcame me.

I must have gone out of my head lying there in the road because the next thing I recall was discovering that the clot on my thigh had been dislodged and blood was again spurting from the wound.

I pressed my hand to the bleeding area and after a while the bleeding stopped and I felt better

Could I go on?

I tried. It was all a nightmare – my wounds, the darkness, the road ahead. My movements were ever so slow; only my mind was running at top speed.

In time I came to an open space where the houses had been removed to make a fire lane. Through the dim light I could make out ahead of me the hazy outlines of the Communications Bureau’s big concrete building, and beyond it the hospital. My spirits rose because I knew that now someone would find me; and if I should die, at least my body would be found. I paused to rest. Gradually things around me came into focus. There were the shadowy forms of people, some of whom looked like walking ghosts. Others moved as though in pain, like scarecrows, their arms held out from their bodies with forearms and hands dangling. These people puzzled me until I suddenly realized that they had been burned and were holding their arms out to prevent the painful friction of raw surfaces rubbing together. A naked woman carrying a naked baby came into view. I averted my gaze. Perhaps they had been in the bath. But then I saw a naked man, and it occurred to me that, like myself, some strange thing had deprived them of their clothes. An old woman lay near me with an expression of suffering on her face; but she made no sound. Indeed, one thing was common to everyone I saw – complete silence.

The suffering could have been avoided. The US warned of the destruction by throwing leaflets from airplanes over 35 cities, amongst them Nagasaki and Hiroshima, days before the attacks.

    • So they should have evacuated Japan over a couple of days?

    • Hell_Is_Like_Newark says:

It was total war. The civilian population was a target starting with the fire bombing of Tokyo, incinerating vasts sections of the cities. The only reason the fire bombing stopped was that Curtis LeMay ran out of bombs.

Back to the global warming scam… I expect the AGW’ers are going to be getting even shriller as we get close to election time. Without the force of government backing them up, the entire green industry would collapse into a pile of ash. Wind, solar.. all gone. I pay 50% more for electricity because of this scam (solar SREC payments drove up my utility costs to about $0.18 per kWh)

      • klem says:

Wow, that’s high. I thought my 14 cents was high, and for almost all places in N America 14 cents is near the top of the list. But you’ve got me beat.

Where the heck do you live?

      • Hell_Is_Like_Newark says:

        KLEM:

NJ… in New York City residential rates are around $0.24 per kWh. NJ did however finally allow net metering for small cogen. I am looking at maybe doing a micro combined heat /power for myself. Even without using the heat, I can generate electricity for about $0.15 per kWh based on a natural gas rate of $1 per therm.

      • DirkH says:

Right about the carpet bombing. But it was new to me that there was a leaflet campaign specifically to warn about the nukes.

      • No one knew what a nuclear weapon was.

      • Latitude says:

Front side of OWI notice #2106, dubbed the “LeMay bombing leaflet,” which was delivered to Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and 33 other Japanese cities on 1 August 1945. The Japanese text on the reverse side of the leaflet carried the following warning:

“Read this carefully as it may save your life or the life of a relative or friend. In the next few days, some or all of the cities named on the reverse side will be destroyed by American bombs. These cities contain military installations and workshops or factories which produce military goods. We are determined to destroy all of the tools of the military clique which they are using to prolong this useless war. But, unfortunately, bombs have no eyes. So, in accordance with America’s humanitarian policies, the American Air Force, which does not wish to injure innocent people, now gives you warning to evacuate the cities named and save your lives. America is not fighting the Japanese people but is fighting the military clique which has enslaved the Japanese people. The peace which America will bring will free the people from the oppression of the military clique and mean the emergence of a new and better Japan. You can restore peace by demanding new and good leaders who will end the war. We cannot promise that only these cities will be among those attacked but some or all of them will be, so heed this warning and evacuate these cities immediately.”

      • Would London have evacuated had Germans dropped the same leaflet? Not a chance.

“Would London have evacuated had Germans dropped the same leaflet? Not a chance.”

And yet 3.5 million did evacuate thanks to Operation Pied Piper.

      • Big difference between being evacuated by your own government, and an enemy dropping propaganda leaflets telling you to evacuate 35 cities.

“The peace which America will bring will free the people from the oppression of the military clique and mean the emergence of a new and better Japan.”

Does that mean that the USA should A-bomb american cities now?

      duck and cover

  3. Owen says:

The Climate Liars disgust me. There is nothing they wont say or do. Their propaganda is outrageous. I fear they will eventually resort to violence and terrorism when they realize their lies have failed.

  4. klem says:

“The Climate Liars disgust me. There is nothing they wont say or do.”

You got that right. The Dept of the Interior is considering easing the Bald Eagle laws so it will be ok for wind turbines to chop them up. Can you imagine the screaming that would happen if this were for a mining or logging company? There would be hell to pay.

But wind farm companies are A-OK.

  5. Sundance says:

Well how many nuclear bombs worth of energy are bombarding the Earth every day? That might be interesting to know for comparison.

  6. Norm says:

Look, war is horrible and should only be entered with the understanding that it should be fought as a “total war”. Maybe if Americans remembered actually how to fight a war we would not be spending a decade in Afghanistan. And if our enemies understood our fighting philosophy then there would be less need to fight a war.

  7. John B., M.D. says:

See calculations of the sunlight energy equivalent of 400,000 nuclear bombs at WUWT:

The order of magnitude is roughly correct. The alarmism and improper context by Hansen is despicable.

  8. Marian says:

    Hansen’s sure is a whackjob.

I see it now. New Alarmist headline:

Global Warming to cause Hiroshima like radiation burns.

Global Warming is to intensify. The heat will be as intense as a nuclear explosion. James Hansen says…” The only way we can stop this runaway global warming is by drastically cutting human consumption and CO2 emissions to a point whereby human civilization can no longer exist.”
