Good link, which also has info on the state by state kw hour rates. At the Big Sur CA place we’re paying up to 29 cents per kw Hour because of the punitive tiered system they have in CA, meant to punish those who are using more power than they used in previous years.
But that’s nothing compared to how bad it could get, Secretary of Energy Chu has said he wants $8 a gallon gas, and it’s suggested that in truth he would jump for joy at $15 a gallon, and at $2 a kw hour electricity. And you can bet your bottom dollar that any action, or inaction, to help bring these rates to fruition would be supported by the econuts, and when push comes to vote, all the Democratic party.
At those rates society would change. We’re talking huge (skyrocketed!) electricity bills, and many people would have to drop electricity altogether. So we would be heading toward the stone age again like the leftists dream of. What happens when you head back to the stone age? In mundane terms,,, there would be a devastating economic collapse, and worse.
