DMI’s New Death Spiral Feature

DMI got about a week behind, but is now compensating by showing what ice extent will be two weeks in the future. They have determined (using the latest data from ouijasat) that at mid-month, extent will be the lowest on record.

  4. Even http://ocean.dmi.dk/arctic/meant80n.uk.php is wrong.
    I checked it 2 days ago and it was below 270k. What went wrong.

    Maybe he wanted some new, innovative, more alarming products from his underlings. Just speculating. Organisational changes sometimes have consequences. For being Danish, DMI was surprisingly non-alarmist the past few years. Maybe someone wanted to rectify this.
