Progress Over The Last Four Centuries

In the 17th century, the experts blamed bad weather on witches.

In the 21st century, the experts blame bad weather on Republicans. If only Obama was allowed to pump trillions of dollars into green energy scams, then we would never have bad weather again.

  1. gator69 says:

400 years ago, Bradford wrote about our first form of government…

“The experience that was had in this common course and condition, tired sundry years . . . that by taking away property, and bringing community into a common wealth, would make them happy and flourishing — as if they were wiser than God . . . For this community [so far it was] was found to breed much confusion and discontent, and retard much employment that would have been to their benefit and comfort. For young men that were most able and fit for labor and service did repine that they should spend their time and strength to work for others men’s wives and children without recompense . . . that was thought injustice.”

Communism was an abject failure, as it always is, even amongst the religious. It produced sloth and jealousy, but little else. Bradford lost his wife along with half the colony the first winter.

In an effort to save the colony, they assigned plots of land and told the colonists they could keep what they sow and reap.

Bradford then wrote of the changes… “This had very good success for it made all hands industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been.”

This is why leftists MUST rewrite history in order to survive.

  2. The old communists seem to be more rational than the current generation of socialists. Clearly from the poster the communists believed in progress. New generation socialists wants to socialise capitalism and shut down the energy sector. A sort of anti-progress.
