The climate science charlatans (which includes most living on taxpayer grants) and their political mouthpieces have predicted the imminent break-up of the arctic ice cap for decades, while, of course, ignoring or downplaying the growth of antarctic ice. Their predictions of doom never come true, but that doesn’t stop them from repackaging and disseminating the same scary warnings. They never stop to consider what silly fools they look like. Their stenographer friends in the media love them. Nothing like a good scare story to gin up higher circulation figures and TV ratings.
Arctic sea ice extent has been fluctuating naturally for millennia, long before CO2 was fingered as the evil culprit. There are plenty of eyewitness reports and news stories from the 1920s of the melting arctic ice pack. The Warmists, of course, don’t want to examine data any farther back than the late 1970s, the advent of satellite measurements. The older data doesn’t support the “CO2 is warming the planet” myth.
With a long-time career on taxpayer grants, I’m really sorry that I have to agree with you. Much of what drives and pays for our research is the never proven assumption that soon man-caused global warming will be the end of us all, especially women, undocumented immigrants, and other minorities. I witnessed science die as it attempted to come into the 21st century.
This has to happen just when you’re all gonna need those assault weapons to fend off hordes of angry starving polar bears.
You never know. It might be cold enough for Mammoths to once roam North America again. The Russians are standing by ready to clone them. Place your orders to be one of the first US citizens to own one. 🙂
