You are about one thousand times more likely to be killed by a car in the US than by an assault rifle.
DAMASCUS, Va. (AP) — Witnesses described a frantic scene and close calls after an elderly driver plowed into dozens of hikers marching in a small Virginia mountain town’s parade. Investigators were looking into whether the motorist had suffered a medical emergency before the accident. About 50 to 60 people suffered injuries ranging from critical to superficial, but no fatalities were reported. Three of the worst injured were flown by helicopter to area hospitals. Their conditions weren’t immediately available.
Car capacity should be limited to 10 gallons of gas, and background checks need to be done on all car owners.
Assault cars…stock cars holding more than 7 people (with guns)? (“Stock” car, get it?, like the stock of a rifle? Oh, never mind, dammit)
Any car with any 2 “assault car” features such as alloy wheels, deep tint of the windows, hydraulic assisted suspension, ‘racing’ tires etc will be classified an assault car and declared illegal.
There will be declared a ‘car free zone’ within a block of any demonstration, parade, street event in which a gathering of over 50 people is expected.
My life is just beginning to get back to normal after knee surgery following a hit and run. Never been shot though. Nor has my gun shot anyone, and hopefully will never have to.
And hope these people heal quickly.
My younger brother was killed by a hit and run driver!
Sorry, Sparks.
Thanks, Would you believe that it is his birthday today, how about that for a strange coincidence. 🙂
A car has more than one use. It’s main use is not to kill.
A gun’s only purpose is to kill.
Big difference, partner.
There are 300,000,000 guns in the US, and only a tiny percentage have been used to kill. Do schools and banks have armed guards because they want to kill people? Did Obama go skeet shooting because he wanted to kill?
You have no idea what you are talking about.
My gun’s purpose is to help protect my life. Some people misuse them, accidentally or intentionally, and people can be killed or injured. Same for cars. Much more often for cars.
Actually when used properly, like cars, guns save lives. Remember the cold war, when nobody wanted to shoot first and start a war that they could not win?
Mutually assured destruction. It saves innocent lives daily.
They’ll have to ban assault chainsaws also. Just incase the movie TX Chainsaw Massacre happens for real.
A couple of incidents from Downunder.

Man injured in pub chainsaw attack
Police have charged a 21-year-old man after a fight involving a knife and a chainsaw at a Northam pub east of Perth.
The men were at the hotel early on Sunday morning when an argument broke out between them.
It is alleged the 21-year-old man threatened a 30-year-old with a knife, threw a glass at other patrons and then went to a storage area to get a chainsaw.
Police say he used the chainsaw to cut through a chair the older man was holding and then made contact with the man’s arm.
The victim received a deep laceration and was taken to hospital for treatment.
