I have been a Whole Foods Market shopper for almost their entire existence, going back to one of their first stores in Austin, Texas. A few years ago they stopped packing groceries in plastic bags, because of a theory that sea mammals choke on them.
We don’t have any sea mammals in Colorado, and very little litter. The chances of a Colorado Whole Foods bag choking a seal seems infinitesimally small. Instead, they pack food now in cheap paper bags, which tear and spill the contents out all over the floor. As just happened to me this afternoon.
Glad to learn that you are in Colorado!
