How do you create the big lie? Simple, tell only half the story.
Tell them :
- That sea level is rising. But don’t tell that sea level has been rising for at least 15,000 years.
- Tell them that glaciers are melting. But don’t tell them that glaciers have been melting for at least 15,000 years.
- Tell them that increased CO2 causes warming. But don’t tell them that it is a tiny amount. Don’t tell them that your claims of a lot warming are based around highly theoretical feedback.
- Tell them that you have very accurate models. But don’t tell them that your model forecasts have been way off the mark so far.
- Tell them that Greenland is warming. But don’t tell them it warmed faster 80 years ago.
- Tell them that animals are dying. But don’t tell them that nature is always brutal. Keep the Bambi imagery alive.
- Tell them that all scientists agree. But don’t tell them that many don’t.
- Torture the data until it gives you numbers you want. But don’t tell them that your predictions are still way off the mark – even after torture.
- Don’t talk about Antarctica. If anyone asks, make up a theory about Ozone.
- Obfuscate violations of basic principles behind lots of meaningless technical jargon.
