Instead of imagining that the Arctic is warm, you can feel the chill for yourself later this week. It has already arrived here in the west, where we are getting slammed with cold and snow.

No doubt Romm will blame all the cold air on excess heat.

It is all relative! If the average properly adjusted historical temperature is -50 then – 49 shows a warming trend. Come to think about it -49.95 would show a warming trend and with current practices it would be read as full -49 as they round to the next highest whole number to find results stated with 2 decimal places.

It is only supposed to get up to +1 C on the weekend here in Nova scotia. That is a very low high for mid-November….. better get my new water pipe from the well burried!

Here’s a real scientific winter forecast.

Based on the width and order of the caterpillar’s black and brown stripes, Jack’s forecast for the coming winter (starting with the winter solstice on December 21) says there will be cold and snow through the holidays and on into late January. There will be a bit of a warming trend in the last week of January and first week of February with a chance for ice. February will continue cold, becoming extremely cold in March. The weeks leading to the spring equinox on March 20 will see the winter close with lots of snow.
