From The Globe and Mail
Copenhagen was not a political breakdown. It was an intellectual breakdown so astonishing that future generations will marvel at our blind credulity. Copenhagen was a classic case of the emperor with no clothes.
The biggest loser is the environmental movement. For years, its activists neglected almost everything but climate change. They behaved as if they’d cornered the market on wisdom, truth and certainty, and they demonized anyone who dared to disagree. They got a fabulous free ride from politicians and the media, who parroted their claims like Sunday-school children reciting Scripture. No interest group in modern times has been so free from skepticism, scrutiny or simple accountability as the environmental establishment.
Perhaps some good will emerge from the wreckage. (Humility, for example.) Now that global warming has stopped sucking all the oxygen out of the room, some of those who care about the planet will turn to other – and more pressing – problems. There are plenty.
We need Environmentalism 2.0!
Perhaps…
Just a single question.
Is a world without socialists a better world? I think so.
I am a socialist and a skeptic of AGW.
I don’t think there is any reason to mix the two.
Hard core environmentalists have been on a collision course with reality for many years. It is time for the crash but now they will take many with them who fell for the fairy tale!
Perhaps some good will emerge from the wreckage. (Humility, for example.)
As if.
I honestly think that many of the “environmentalists” are in it because it’s a fad and a good source of revenue and attention right now. Not to mention the ability to manipulate the politics of the day.
Expect the number of “environmentalists” to drop if AGW doesn’t happen.

The planet does not a saviour as it is never in crisis or in danger. The environmentalists do not need a saviour too as they think they are the saviour of an actually non-existent problem. For people who have no humility, no one or nothing can save them.
