Climate change brings bad news for polar bears
“What we found was striking,” Graham Slater, the lead author of the study said in a release. “The polar bear and brown bear can bite equally hard, but the polar bear’s skull is a much weaker structure.”
The weaker skull means polar bears are likely to lose out on food in competition with grizzlies, whose stronger skulls are better-suited to a plant-rich diet, Slater said.
Study author Blaire Van Valkenburgh said polar bears being forced south may mean lower birth weights, smaller and fewer litters, less reproductive success and fewer bears surviving to adulthood.

Climate disruption my man – in europe over the next couple of weeks we can see the devastating effect of CO2 in causing freezing temperatures and snow – essentially the CO2 causes atmospheric disruption on such a scale that the atmoshphere inverts and leads to New york being under 100 feet of ice.
Then the Polar bears can move to Europe and feast on ECO WHACOs! No problem!!!!
As I have said before, polar bears, brown bears and griz are all the same species anyway, just races that can and do interbreed with viable offspring.
These authors seriously need to learn about clines and population genetics; a bunch of idiots who assume a few specimens can represent many//all populations and that human inferences drawn from skeletal structure mean something accurate. I would guess NOT.

Black Bears are a breed apart! And they all make mighty fine rugs or wall hangings!
It must be nice having one of these research jobs where you can get paid for travelling around the world and then coming back to write whatever drivel you want.
