And the buffalo don’t run through my yard like they would have 100 years ago either. I consider this a good thing. Although, buffalo burgers can be very tasty if cooked properly! Griz, I’m not so sure. Brown bear perhaps.

A local progressive nitwit columnist here laments how we don’t have any Grizzlies roaming the nearby forests. I guess he wants to invite one over for a wine tasting or something.
Grizzlies are great for scattering trash, smashing into cars, and disposing of unwanted pets and children.
They seem to be very happy in Alaska, and I’m happy for them.
I like being able to camp and hike without grizzlies. Yellowstone is kind of annoying in that regard.
I guess we should remove all predators large enough to inconvenience camping humans
Our Colorado Black Bears can be intimidating enough. Anybody living in Steamboat Springs (as I do) who hasn’t come face to face with a Black Bear on multiple occasions, must be a shut-in.
Grizzlies (aka Brown Bears) are WAY more intimidating and far more aggressive. I’m quite happy to let the residents of other states deal with those bad boys.
Blacks are easily treed, even a cat can do it.
Protect your property with a cat.
Sounds to me like you’ve never confronted a Black Bear. They are nowhere near that predictable, especially trash bears — been there, done that, didn’t win the fight, retreated to fight another day (and another way).

There are now more than a couple grizz in the Wyoming Range, which tapers off down towards Kemmerer Wyo. Not too far from the Colorado, Utah, Wyoming border. When I go hiking I keep the kids real close because I see lots of cat tracks everywhere. A three year old makes a squeak that sounds like an electronic predator lure. Griz I can do without.
Just came back from up by Steamboat, black bears are thick.
