Met Office Shifts Gears – Wants To Legislate Rainfall Patterns

2C climate target may need to change: UK scientist

Slingo added: “Temperature change in many respects is not the most dangerous part of climate change. The most dangerous part is arguably around the shift of regional rainfall patterns.

The Met Office has shown an excellent understanding of rainfall patterns. Like in 2007

  1. Yarmy says:

“Temperatures have already risen about 0.7 degrees C since the Industrial Revolution.”

Indeed, and in that time people have become incomparably healthier and wealthier than at any other time in history of human civilization.

  2. Paul H says:

Perhaps we should get John Holdren to build us a big umbrella.

  3. Green Sand says:

    Its a new funding pitch.

  4. R. de Haan says:

When will people finally understand that we have to stop rewarding incompetence.
Met Office has been the spider in the web of climate alarmism.
They fiddled the temperature data, produced rotten climate models and very bad weather forecasts for a period of five years on a role.
Their last winter forecast caused billions of pounds of economic losses due to the bad winter weather that took a grip over the country. Met office had predicted a mild winter and so the country was left fully unprepared.

Instead of sacking the Met Office Management they were rewarded with incredible bonuses. All Tax payers money of course.

The only way to make Met Office function again is to remove all the warmists from their positions. Just kick them all out.

Unfortunately the Brits are all sleeping and the train of blunders and deceit has left the station again for another ride.

    And in the USA?

OK, we have the Tea Party in place now to start the clean up but I think it is unacceptable to have freaks like John Holdren holding strategic positions in the US Government. Period.
The same goes for ideologues like James Hanson who are ruining the reputation of NASA and NOAA.

Shouldn’t Americans fill the streets and demand their resignation?

Maybe we have to wait for a new Little Ice Age and a Laki like volcanic eruption
because history tells us that these are the ideal times for populous uprising and revolution.

By the way, did you know Tea Party Movements are founded all over the world today, even in Europe?

    • Paul H says:

Don’t forget that the Met Office is run by Robert Napier, previously head of WWF, despite the fact that he has no has no relevant experience.

He has had and still holds many other positions in various green organisations.

The Met Office is now just a front for climate change advocacy and cannot be relied upon to produce reliable data if it does not fit their preconceived theories.

  5. Mike Davis says:

It is also past time for the next display from the Yellowstone caldera or a few sites in the Cascades that are strategically positioned to influence the entire Northern Hemisphere.
Because of all the contradictory statements made by the believers they will be able to point to some obscure claim and say “We told you so!” no matter what happens, just like they are doing now.

  6. TinyCO2 says:

You’re being unfair 😉 The Met Office rainfall predictions for the UK were very accurate. They nearly always predicted a chance of 33% less rain than normal, 33% more rain than normal, 33% normal rainfall. This left 1% for ‘brace yourself, anything could happen’. Well they were right.
