Check out this explanation of LA Times misbehaviour
http://climatide.wgbh.org/2010/11/there-are-two-climate-communication-efforts/
The AGU said no such thing. They said the LA Times article was wrong. Period.
The LA Times did not post a correction. The plopped a lame “clarification” in the middle of an article which everyone had already read.
This John Abraham dude is gold.
Open Door: Is the Western Climate Establishment Corrupt?

This is funny stuff! Shub, you’re right! John Abraham has provided plenty of entertainment for the skeptics of the world!
I didn’t see it in this article, but read in another that Abraham’s (associate) Professorship is in “Climate Ethics”? Come again? So… a professor of Marxist activism?
Lubos skewered Abraham mercilessly. It wasn’t pretty.

Thank you my friend.
This was my favorite headline in this misadventure and provided by Nick Baumann at Mother Jones who in youthful trash talk bravado wrote his headline:
“Fighting Back on Climate: Don’t Bring a Knife to a Gun Fight”
I’m guessing Nick felt that skeptics are stupid lightweights who bring knives to gunfights and that the 700 AGU scientists were going to deliver a severe beat down in a street brawl. But as often happens with MOJO authors, young Nick did not do his own homework and young Nick relied on the shoddy work of LA times writer Neela Banerjee. So today young Nick feasts on crow as he now swallows the reality that there will be no street fight engaging skeptics by either AGU scientists or junior college professors seeking attention by forming a fast response team. There will be no knife wielding unprepared skeptics in the street awaiting slaughter. And in the end only one gun showed up which as it turned out was the gun young Nick was holding, the one nature had supplied him with at birth.
