The ice caps are in trouble

That article has is so full of ifs, coulds and unknowns it would sink the Titanic.
“It now appears certain that both the Greenland and the Antarctic ice sheets are losing mass and thus raising sea level and that the rate of ice loss from Greenland is growing.”
Hmmm, there are more than 15 million sq.kms. of ice in Antarctica alone at the moment, http://www.iup.uni-bremen.de:8084/amsr/ice_ext_s.png
Can we stop the rotation of the earth, moon and orbit around the sun to try to stop Climate change, we want a completely stable climate that never ever changes
That is a good example of science by press release. The Steig et al paper was released in all papers before it was published. Of course it was much discussed due to the unique methods used to arrive at the results. TAV’s JeffID had a “FEW” words to say as he was trying to reproduce the results. SM at CA also discussed it. I do not recall the snow and ice researcher that stated it is difficult to find temperature records where none were taken and had come to a conflicting conclusion in their report that was released before the Steig et al report was. The Steig et al report essentially said the other research groups releasing reports on the state of Antarctica did not know what they were doing.
I thought this was included in the fantasy folder of Mann creations as he was a co-author and created unique statistical properties to accomplish the desired results.
yeah, it’s getting warmer in the Antarctic but the ice is increasing. uhuh.
has anyone looked at the actual paper to see if “summer ice will soon disappear” made through peer review? chris? calling chrisd?
CO2 has raised the freezing point of water in the Antarctic by about 20 degrees, and lowered it in the Arctic.
it is the magical molecule!

That paper was covered by numerous web sites when and after it was released!
