Romm Maintains His Failing Grade In Science

He posted this map on his web site showing how global warming is targeting Louisiana with sea level rise.

NOAA explains what is really going on in Louisiana :

When the area was settled, however, levees were built to contain the river. While levees stopped the flooding and protected the population, they also stopped the natural replenishing of the land.

    He’s a believer all right.

  2. Mike Davis says:

This is the same issue in the Chesapeake Bay region.
I thought this was “Common Knowledge” and that a “Consensus” had already been formed regarding the subsistence issues on these river deltas.

  3. Sundance says:

I never thought I would see the day that Joe Romm declared war on climate science!

    • Mike Davis says:

I saw that the first time I read one of his sermons!
He has been at war with “Real” science since his Clinton days, so why not turn his delusions on pseudo science also?

  4. Geezer1 says:

This kind of lets a person know how much stock to put in anything Romm puts out. The old adage ” one should keep his mouth shut and let people think he is a fool rather than open it and remove all doubt”. Damn. It must be tough to be a CAGWer these days. For the skeptic it is like shooting ducks on the pond along with some humor.

  5. Martin says:

There was a great and very prescient article on this subject of the loss of delta lands in National Geographic about a year before Katrina wrought her damage.

  6. Brad Johnson says:

I’m confused — how is the threat of sea level rise from global warming inconsistent with the threat of subsidence and lack of delta replenishment?

I mean, it’s possible to have both a cold and a broken nose at the same time.
