I thought they wanted to pay someone to take the Met Office off their hands…
It would become a liability to anyone who took over because of constraints in the real business world. They would be held accountable for the actions of their employees. As long as it is a government agency they can use the defense of being an acadimic governmental agency using academic principles and not wanting to restrict the academic freedom of the employees self expresion.
Fire them all and start using Weather Action. In the long run MET is costing UK more than any perceived value due to forecasting issues. 6 out of 6 forecasts wrong, what better recommendation could they have.
From my link – “The organisation, which relocated to Exeter from former headquarters in Bracknell, Berkshire, in 2004 is estimated to generate £74 million of income for the regional economy.”
I knew there was big money in garbage collection but I didn’t know there was this kind of money in garbage production. lol
I used to work in Bracknell. They have a ski hill made out of teflon over concrete. Great way to break your arm.
I went for an interview in Bracknell a.k.a Dagenham Gone West… thought they were going to break my legs when I didn’t speak Estuary English… needless to say I also avoided the ski hill… luckily got a seat on the last stagecoach out of Dodge City.
Sorry for the off topic, but this is important.
Please go here to voice your concern about the EPA’s desire to regulate coal ash as a hazardous material. Today is the last day they will take letters.
Um, the linked article (from 2009) stated that the Scottish ski resorts may not have enough snow in 50 years…
I’m not sure what your point is.
The point is that they have no idea what they are talking about.
