UK Government Paying Millions To Terrorists
This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Bookmark the permalink.
Don’t worry, when the UK runs out borrowing money, it like Greece can save itself with a carbon tax, it can fix any failed state
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/portugal/8135686/Euro-under-siege-after-Portugal-hits-panic-button.html
It isn’t paying money to terrorists and you shown be ashamed of posting such accusations.
It is compensation for what was unlawfully done to them at the hands of the US.
Then let the US pay!!
Ethically the US probably should but but Guantanamo is in Cuba, conveniently out of US legal jurisdiction where civil rights laws don’t apply.
Lazarus, that isn’t really correct. The U.S. Flag flies of Guantanamo Bay. It is a federal U.S. possession. All applicable federal laws are upheld there. The question is, are federal laws applicable to enemy combatants. And, of course, they are not. Our federal laws apply to U.S. citizenry. Enemy combatants have minimal constitutional protection.
But they were UK citizens and alleged UK forces were complicit in their torture before they arrived at Guantanamo. The UK has settled this matter out of court.
#1 – “shown be ashamed”?????
#2 – Cite the law.
Laz “It is compensation for what was unlawfully done to them at the hands of the US.”
Try reading it again and see if you can get it right you “hate America first” moron. The alledged torture occured prior to detainment at Gitmo.
Sundacne, I do not hate America. Do you make a habit of calling ex-service personnel morons? What a Pr**k!
But you are right, the alleged torture occurred prior to detainment at Guantanamo, I never said otherwise. But their ill-treatment was allegedly carried out by US personnel with UK forces being complicit.
“Mr Mohamed, from west London, was held in Pakistan in 2002 before US agencies moved him to Morocco, where he was tortured, before he was sent on to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, via Afghanistan.”
Laz you’re a lying POS. Above you wrote,” But they were UK citizens and alleged UK forces were complicit in their torture before they arrived at Guantanamo.” This is false! It wasn’t the UK forces that were alleged as you wrote moron, it was the torture that was alleged! There was no admittance or proof of torture EVER!!!!!!!!
You have now written two subconscious mistakes in order to bash American actions and those mistakes betray your true intent. Go peddle your American bashing where people aren’t wise enough and experienced enough to read right through you. F_ck off you lying POS!
Sundance get over yourself and don’t be such a prick. Your a disgrace to the country, still calling service personnel morons – how patriotic is that?
You rather stupidly said;
“This is false! It wasn’t the UK forces that were alleged as you wrote moron, it was the torture that was alleged!”
Are you saying that UK forces were complicit in their alleged torture? This is another allegation that the UK were involved.
Where have I said that the torture was proven? However it isn’t as if there isn’t evidence that people in US custody weren’t mistreated.
If these individuals were citizens of a country not at war with the US or UK and apprehended at a Terrorist training camp during a war on terror. Not being in a war zone they were not prisoners of war but terrorists in training. This becomes a situation of getting cause and effect backwards. If UK troops were involved in combat they should have been tried for treason or at minimum lost their citizenship and not allowed to return to the UK. Having displayed criminal behavior they should have gone to trial. I do not condone torture but their being at a terrorist camp automatically made them guilty of some crime. Even if it was just giving aid to the enemy.
But it doesn’t make them terrorists. No criminal charges were ever brought and no trial took place. It is very likely that they were at least sympathisers, or if they weren’t they became so due to their treatment. They are now wealthy sympathisers. Another case of policies making things wore for all.
LAZ:
Just innocent tourists visiting Pakistan’s version of the Magic Kingdom and enjoying the thrill rides and exploring cultural exchanges of weapon usage. Your claim to be a ex military person and your position on terrorist wanna bes is a major conflict. It does go along with most of your other conflictung posts.
You probably thought Jane Fonda was doing the right thing by visiting North Viet Nam during that conflict! Maybe you think the Army Doctor was just doing mental exams when he fired over 100 rounds at the Army base in Texas. He was just testing their preparedness for going to the front lines. Some people accidentally got in front of the bullets. The guy that parked a truck filled with explosives in Times Square was just delivering a package just like McVeigh in Oklahoma. Jim Jones was just having a tea party and the brand of tea caused mild indigestion of some of those that attended. David Koresh was holding a prayer meeting when a candle tipped over and started a small fire. The world Trade incident was mearly planes that accidentally took a wrong turn because no people of the muslim faith have any bad feeling about people in the US or any where else in the world.
Does that just about cover your thoughts on those situations.
What others think is Terrorism is only a slight misunderstanding and we unjustly invaded Afghanistan and Iraq just to show we are meaner than the peaceful people of those countries are.
The word was apologist. Just like those that thought Hitler was doing the right thing and the US should stay put of a minor regional conflict. How about US actions lead to Japanese retaliating for the dishonor they were forced to endure by the American government. They were not trying to start a war they were just trying to tell our Government to mind their own business but our government over reacted and attacked the peace loving nation of Japan after December 7 1941 when their bombs accidentally scraped some paint off a ship at Pearl Harbor.
Is there anything else you want to blame the victims for!
Well at least it is clear that you’re a sympathizer.
It was attempting to figure out where LAZ would stand on a couple of historic issues. If he thinks this way about citizens of the UK being found in Pakistan in a questionable situation that resulted in them being detained I was projecting the same reasoning to other historic events.
If 200 people witness a person committing a specific act is that person still innocent until proven guilty? If a person writes about how they committed an illegal act, is that person innocent until proven guilty?
Mike Davis,
Don’t you start acting like an ass as well.
I commented on this post because the headline suggests that these people were proven terrorists – they aren’t, and that the UK govenment is paying millions to terrorists – they aren’t either. I have said nothing that isn’t supported in the news report that Steve linked to.
Believing in justice and being innocent until proven guilty does not conflict with any feelings I’ve had in the military service – in fact that is one of the things I was defending.
I am no apologist for terrorism, fundamental extremeism nor the ‘shoot all ragheads because they must be guilty of something’ type of metality that is starting to come across from the posters here. These people should be ashamed becaue it disrespects our troops and the difficult job they have to do.

Watch out! The thought police are now in charge!
he did not call your service a moronic one, just you. So he is not denigrating the service, you are by your attempt to link yourself to an institution and blame it for your shortcomings.

Don’t ber a complete cock.
