Natural gas companies say they can provide a cleaner alternative, because a 1-GW natural-gas power plant would release “only” about 9 billion pounds of CO2 into the atmosphere each year. (Is half a large glass of lethal poison OK, compared with a whole glass?)

I have said for the longest time; all universities, movie theaters, concert halls and United Nations facilities should be taken off the electric grid and be required to exclusively utilize wind/solar/wave power.
That solution will stop Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming Cooling(CAGWC).
I agree! Stop all extra curricular activities at all levels of education. No Driver’s license until after all schooling is completed and only issue them as required for work. Stop all vacations and shut down all destination resorts. Let them take simulated vacations. If they believe simulated climate catastrophes then they can believe they took simulated vacations to simulated theme parks and simulated beach resorts.
They could do virtual Football, Basketball, Baseball, and track events and even do virtual training. Then they could become virtual professional athletes as real professional sports would need to be eliminated also.
We could also have virtual concerts and do away with the entertainers as they do not produce anything and only emit CO2 which as most of them promote CO2 in the atmosphere needs to be reduced.
This is precisely where they want to go with it. But they want to boil the frog slowly so you’re nearly cooked before you figure it out.
