We “won” the court case, yet appeals stretched the time of action for years. I came away feeling that not only is it nearly impossible to get effective legislation through Congress, but that the special interests can prevent implementation almost interminably. Democracy of the sort intended in 1776 probably could have dealt with climate change, but not the fossil-money-’democracy’ that now rules the roost in Washington.

Democracy of the sort intended in 1776 probably would have locked him up by now and thrown away the key. How lucky a fruitcake he is, being a cult leader on taxpayer dollars.
Thanks to ou Founding Fathers for the 2nd Amendment. Let them try to take away our rights and freedom. To borrow a phrase from Clint….Come’on Hansen – make my day.

It is activists such as Hansen that are delaying any meaningful activities to proceed!
I suspect this just shows his true colours. Like many other communists Hansen sees global warming as a convenient way to achieve his true goal of bringing down capitalism.
It’s funny how his defenders disappear from action when something embarrassing like this crops up.
Perhaps someone can explain how he is allowed to continue as a paid Federal employee when he uses his position to promote political views that are damaging to the country?
..so did Hansen pay Morris Strong a visit in China?
http://www.freedomadvocates.org/articles/sustainable_development/maurice_strong_-_no_better_place_to_hide_than_china_20061101193/
I read that and now I have to get rid of my hats because I was not aware those type were the official PROTEST hats! It is past time for him to be relocated to the home!
What was he doing in China anyhow? As an employee of the United States Government and not a diplomat should his travels be restricted? Because of my clearances , my travels were monitored.
Can someone direct me to a summary of the “court case” Hansen is refering to or to his findings on fuel efficiency related to said case?
Little men hate freedom. They know the only way to bring about perfection is through their benevolent rule – through ruthless enslavement of all to their way of thinking. It is no wonder that he loves China.
And all forget Cambodia. That was just the pure utopian society (as preeched by the NY Times) taken to its inevitable conclusion. We all know that (they ignore it). But they also ignore one of the most important lessons of Cambodia.
The first ones that were purged where the psuedo intellectuals that enabled the utopian society to come into existance. Like Cambodia, should the left ever get their desire, the first to die will be the left.
What a moron !
We don’t have a democracy – the USA is a constitutional representative republic.
Listen, strange women lyin’ in ponds distributin’ swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
“A steadily rising carbon fee must be collected from fossil fuel companies. All funds should go to the public on a per capita basis to allow lifestyle adjustments and spur clean energy innovations.”
“On a per capita basis” sounds like just another way to redistribute wealth.
And ‘lifestyle adjustments’ probably is a nice way of saying ‘lifestyle reductions.’
“The United States then would be forced to make a choice. It could either address its fossil fuel addiction with a rising carbon fee and supportive national investment policies or it could accept continual descent into second-rate and third-rate economic well-being.”
We’re already on our way to second and third rate economic well-being and the move in this direction took a huge step forward in October of ’00 after Clinton signed PNTR for China. This greatly accelerated the offshoring of jobs as the following graph (if I’m reading it correctly) shows:
http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/graph/?s%5B1%5D%5Bid%5D=MANEMP
Prior to Clinton giving China PNTR, Clinton and the DNC had received illegal contributions from the communist Chinese government and in my opinion, PNTR was payback for those contributions (as I believe Kyoto was as well). So when ‘Indiana Hansen’ says “The scale [of manufacturing in China] is so great” he’s right. It’s a major factor why we have almost 20 million out of work. And we can (in my opinion) thank Clinton and the democrats for this.
Hansen talking about special interest? The pot calling…..
Global ecological central planning is similar to global political central planning.
