Friday’s high temperature sets Findlay record

Friday’s high temperature of 60 degrees set a record for the date in Findlay.

  3. Jussi says:

Couple of days ago you wrote that it will be -70 C (-94 F) in Ojmjakon today.

    http://stevengoddard.wordpress.com/2011/01/01/coldest-temperature-ever-recorded-in-the-northern-hemisphere-forecast-for-wednesday/

I checked out the current temperature and there is only -58 C right now. A massive warming from -70 C to -58 C.

  4. Right now when I checked it was – 74 F – 59 C 🙂

The fact that it is only -74 rather than -92 is conclusive proof of global warming!!

    • Tony Duncan says:

      Andy,

record temps in any one place or even one region for short periods of time are, by themselves, meaningless. Steve knows that.

      • Yes, the unusual cold all over the world is just one location – Earth.

      • Tony Duncan says:

        Think as a brick.

Findlay, Oh, Findlay, OH, Findlay, OH

Wow. Steve it IS fun writing meaningless insulting comments!

      • truthsword says:

Tony that Findlay, Ohio record is really disingenuous… why don’t you look at December data or wait and look at the whole of January. In our region, we only had 3 days above normal and almost none at normal, and you pick one of those 3 days. I know you are trying to, in your mind, prove a point, but it is not even similar as where Steve is talking about hasn’t been above average except for 3 days and he picked one of those 3 days. I am sure there is someplace that is somewhat relative to pick for you “point.”

    • Tony Duncan says:

      truthsword.

the point I was trying to make was that I was not making a valid point. Of course the one day is meaningless, as is the LA record high last summer, and the extremely high temps where I live in Vt in September. As is saying Katrina or Pakistan or Russia was due to ACC. The only relevant issue is long term trends over the entire planet. One certainly can say there are statistical likelihoods of an effect of ACC due to observed warming, or in Steve’s case that current cold extremes point toward imminent cooling. But neither are valid just by themselves in my opinion.

      • CO2 is trapping massive amounts of heat, which is producing record cold underneath.

      • Tony Duncan says:

Was that part of Hansen’s testimony before congress? Or maybe Steve Schneiders dying words?

      • suyts says:

Neither! Schneider was stuck in the heat traps heat thingy, all the way to end, as far as I know. And Hansen, he’s out there flapping, thinking we need to tax are way to coolness. [[shades on!]]

Both are so passe. Every one knows now that energy use causes warmth that causes hot that causes cold.

I’ve tried to work this out with Kelvins, but to no avail. Maybe with Watts will work. If that fails, I’ll try BTU’s, but I’m sure there’s some expression that allows for more = less.

Wait! I’ve got it! Energy used is energy spent, which equals less energy or heat after the spending of energy. Phhttt.

A generation of people (not all of us) that can’t get this.

      • Tony Duncan says:

        SUYTS,

I bet you have not NEALRY exhausted the all the different ways to express energy. You seem to be stuck in that western materialist paradigm for energy. Keep trying, I have confidence in you!

      • suyts says:

Well, yes, I’m probably stuck there. I’ll try to stay quantitative as opposed to try to work with Shakti or some such other equally amphibological idea. I’m weird that way.

  6. Andy Weiss says:

The weather normally does set both high and low temperature records. Nothing unusual about that.

Red. I like red. Maybe I will be a wall. 😉
