China’s leaders may be concerned less by global warming itself than by the economic consequences of suffocating air pollution in its major cities, but they are nonetheless launching dozens of new clean energy projects this year in the electricity generation, transportation, and manufacturing sectors. The country’s twelfth Five Year Plan, to be formally adopted in March, sets out ambitious benchmarks for increasing renewable energy and efficiency while reducing greenhouse gas emissions through the mass deployment of wind turbines, solar panels and other green technologies.
The entire Huff-N-Puff crowd should move to China to share the Joy. Please take Brother Al and Big Jim with you!
I haven’t been to China in a few years, but last time that I was there was the same as previous years. China is putting ever more cars on the road, but 99% are of foreign manufacture and/or design. Heck, I even saw a couple of Hummers and a Bentley.
China has plenty of money to play around with. OUR MONEY!!!
