Corals aren’t going extinct after all. What a surprise.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Any outcome is possible with Sim Planet! The limiting factor appears to be the hardware release being used to run the version of software. The newer hardware is actually built for the latest software in is hindered by the older versions and the new software crashes some of the older hardware platforms.
GIGO RULES!
And now we know why these guys aren’t rocket scientists.
“Duuh–oh, hey Rocky! I’m going to be a brain surgeon!”
“Me too, Bullwinkle! This is going to be great!”
Just imagine taking off in Apollo 13 with Hansen in charge.
If corals die off if temps change slightly, then they would only grow in a very small part of the planet where temps were perfect.
erm, which part IS that ?
A climate controlled aquarium such as the one at Monterey!
Or the OK Coral.
Actually the article states that it is unclear how effectively corals can adapt to the various stresses induced by increased temp. But if temps aren’t really increasing it doesn’t really matter.
Actually, what the study says is that since we haven’t ever made real studies of coral community composition before recent history, we really can not be sure what the hell is going on but it sure is interesting how they are changing now.
As they have not got much of a clue then, can we have our money back?
No – you have made a non-refundable deposit.
In point of fact, in the VAST MAJORITY of recent science, my abbreviated summary applies, LOL. We really do need to take a chill pill on drawing absurd conclusions and spend some time accumulating repetitive data series so that we can draw better conclusions.
One has to ask – how old are the oldest coral formations? From what I understand, they were around long before man and when it was a lot hotter than today.

I wonder who funded this one. NSF again?
What on earth did all these scientists do before they had funding?
what scientists? You DO realize that before the last 80 years, there were NO scientists to speak of – just the odd dilettante ?
this is the information age explosion….totally cut off its money and destroy it or redirect it in new and useful ways
All this gibberish means is that given a certain change in temperatures that there are going to be winners and losers. You need a doctorate to say that?
