Government : Southwest To Get Very Hot And Dry

Increasing temperature, drought, wildfire, and invasive species will accelerate transformation of the landscape.

Impacts of climate change on the landscape of the Southwest are likely to be substantial, threatening biological diversity, protected areas, and ranching and agricultural lands. Temperature increases have made the current drought in the region more severe than the natural droughts of the last several centuries. Record-setting wildfires are resulting from the rising temperatures and related reductions in spring snowpack and soil moisture.

Wow…so much for the the ice free myth

Russian Ships Trapped in 6.5 Feet of Ice

As a Russian icebreaker made its way to reach icebound ships trapped since Friday in the Sea of Okhotsk, two more ships became trapped on Monday.

The first three ships trapped are a fishing vessel, a refrigerated freighter and a scientific research ship, according to The Associated Press.

It would be good to leave the scientific research vessel trapped in the ice so they can better understand the effects of Global Warming! 😉

    • Lance says:

as the ice breaker(s) make there way there, if you look out the stern of the ice breaker, you can see the results of global warming.. 🙂

    “and a scientific research ship”

I don’t wish them any harm, but I hope they are stuck there until July………….

Oh my!!! Europe is going to explode and I fear this creeping madness will land on our shores.

Europe starts confiscating private pension funds.

Only because the top 2% have enough cash lying around that they don’t need 401ks or IRAs. It is all about emptying the wealth of the middle class into the pockets of the top2percent and making a bigger lower class to become a better source of servants…

“Temperature increases have made the current drought in the region more severe than the natural droughts of the last several centuries.”

So the ‘current’ drought was UNnatural?

Is that muddy water from the heavy rain they just got? I love the look of raging rivers. 🙂

  7. Suzanne says:

They may be right about increased drought in the Southwest but not because of global warming. Before there was computer modeling and James Hanson, climatologists like Hubert Lamb and Reid Bryson using emperical science found that during cooling times, the monsoon belts in the southwest and elsewhere, tended to move south, actually increasing drought, especially in New Mexico. Also researchers like Betancourt have found that rainfall in the Southwest is highly correlated with the PDO and AMO. The precipitation of the desert Southwest is determined by a complex dance of summer monsoons and winter rain which in turn is controlled by the PDO and AMO. To say the area will have increased drought on the basis of AGW shows profound ignorance of the climates of the past in these areas. For example, the paleoclimate proxies of New Mexico indicate there was increased moisture at the warmest times of the Medieval Warm period. The collapse of the Anasazi correlates well with a time of cooling in Europe around 1150. Its much more complex than the warmistas want to believe.

Thank you for bringing that up! They do seem to get things backwards to prove everything is caused by global warming. There might be a minor problem with their models and I think it is the assumptions used to determine input.
The equation that is used appears to be IF* THEN= warming!

  8. PhilJourdan says:

Not bad for what is essentially a desert. let me see if I can predict some too.

Florida is going to get hot and muggy.

NY is going to get cold and snowy.

Bet I am more accurate than the government.
