Now that we have a firm grasp on how to reduce CO2 (simply let the EPA destroy the economy) what target should we aim for to stabilize the climate?
How about 307 ppm? That is far below Hansen’s safe level of 350 ppm.
We could have a dust bowl and a depression! Just like the 1930s.
Maybe 310 ppm? Before global warming, there wasn’t much moisture in the atmosphere to produce snow. Snowfalls must have been very light prior to 350 ppm.

Maybe we should go all the way back to 290 ppm?
The Great Blizzard of 1888 or Great Blizzard of ’88 (March 11 – March 14, 1888) was one of the most severe blizzards in United States’ recorded history. Snowfalls of 40-50 inches (102-127 cm) fell in parts of New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut, and sustained winds of over 45 miles per hour (72 km/h) produced snowdrifts in excess of 50 feet (15.2 m). Railroads were shut down and people were confined to their houses for up to a week.[1]
Was just looking at climate data for Minneapolis, MN.
Only one of the 12 calander months has set a record for warmest month on record since 1947.
As far as hottest absolute temperature ever recorded during any given month, only one of the 12 calander months has set a record since 1980.
This hardly sounds like runaway, catastrophic warming.
With the “Proper” smoothing Algorerhythm you can get any historic climate you want. Look no further than the Hockey Stick Family!
I really like this post……………
But Debbie Stabenow can feel the warming when she flies. And she doesn’t even need a plane.
🙂
Thems were natural climate variations that affected poor dumb people.
Nows we’re really really smart, it’s we who affect natural climate.
So it’s not a case of what ppm CO2 we should go back to. It’s tha case dumbing people down to a level where they can’t affect poor fragile climate.
We start with our uni students (we’ve nearly accomplished that)
We could have a dust bowl and a depression! Just like the 1930s.
Nope. Can’t. Global warming causes too much record cold to make that possible.
;O)
Maybe we should go all the way back to 290 ppm?
Hansen said the world is already out of balance. So we’re stuck with getting more snow just like they got more snow when co2 was less. Nothing we can do. We’re stuck with more snow and more snow. When global warming causes less snow we’re stuck with that too. Tornadoes with 350 mph winds, that too, it’s global warming. Earthquakes, record cold and snow, we’re causing all of that, everything. Top scientist tell us so, all the experts.
;O)
Yabut, the Southern Hemisphere isn’t burning up — just look at Antarctica. If we reduce the north to 350ppm CO2 the Southern Hemisphere will take a kick where the sunshine don’t.
Atmospheric CO2 content has been changing for 4.6 Ba and claims that 285ppmv is ‘normal’ are rubbish. Hansen’s 350ppmv is again a stupid figure. Measurements taken in the 19th century, using adsorption methods that are still in use today, show atmospheric CO2 levels in Europe as varying between 350 and 520ppmv. The data has been assessed as having an error of about 1%. Today we rely on measuring this gas in one location which is a dormant volcano surrounded by 5 active volcanoes. What a stupid place to measure CO2 which is, by the way, one of the most prolific of volcanic gasses.
Climatologists are arguing about temperature changes of 0.1C when at any one time on this planet the temperature extremes are between -80C and +50C. Seems bizarre to me.
